It would have been good if I could write metadata when the tiles was generated and what extracts it is based upon on as metadata, I opened an idea in the discussion page of the tilemaker repository. It would be good if it could be fetched from the metadata of the .pbf files osmium has processed. It seems like the osmium-tool steps is removing the metadata. Seems like there was a pull request which was merged, which adds this to libosmium.
