Prerequisites

• Node.js 16+
• npm or yarn
• Firebase account
• Git

Setup

1. Clone the repository:

git clone https://github.com/yourusername/study-group-hub.git
cd study-group-hub

2. Install dependencies:

npm install

3. Create a .env file in the root directory:

VITE_FIREBASE_API_KEY=your_api_key
VITE_FIREBASE_AUTH_DOMAIN=your_auth_domain
VITE_FIREBASE_PROJECT_ID=your_project_id
VITE_FIREBASE_STORAGE_BUCKET=your_storage_bucket
VITE_FIREBASE_MESSAGING_SENDER_ID=your_messaging_sender_id
VITE_FIREBASE_APP_ID=your_app_id
VITE_FIREBASE_MEASUREMENT_ID=your_measurement_id

4. Start the development server:

npm run dev

Deployment

1. Build the application:

npm run build

2. Deploy to Firebase:

firebase deploy

Testing

Run the test suite:

npm test

Security

• All API endpoints are protected with Firebase Authentication
• Data is validated using Firebase Security Rules
• Input sanitization is implemented
• Rate limiting is configured
• CORS is properly set up
