Pai(D)rop application is a cross platform mobile application that uses blockchain and cloud technology to facilitate donations and vouchers for food and beverages to the underprivileged in Singapore. It is inspired by the existing Pay It Forward initiative that distributes physical vouchers to the needy, but improves on it by making it more accessible, secure, and efficient.
By using Pai(D)rop, donors can contribute to a pool of funds that will be redistributed to eligible claimants based on their family per capita income. Claimants can then redeem vouchers using a QR code-based system at participating hawker stalls. The transactions are recorded on the blockchain to ensure transparency and trust. The app also allows donors to donate to other charitable organisations that support the SDGs, and rewards them with points that can be redeemed for incentives.
Pai(D)rop aims to tackle the SDGs of “Zero Hunger” and “No Poverty” by providing direct assistance to those who need it most and fostering community engagement and generosity
