✨ What EUfirst Does

EUfirst helps you find AI tools, models, and infrastructure with a focus on European data rules and local control.

It gives you a curated list that is scored for:

  • Data sovereignty
  • GDPR compliance
  • AI Act readiness
  • Open-source support
  • EU-based hosting and deployment

Use it to compare tools before you choose one for work, study, or a team project.

🔎 What You Can Check

Inside the app or list, you can use it to review:

  • AI tools that store data in the EU
  • LLMs with clear privacy terms
  • Open-source models you can self-host
  • Cloud services built for European users
  • Infrastructure options that fit EU legal needs
  • Vendors that reduce data exposure outside the EU

🖥️ System Requirements

EUfirst works on most Windows PCs that can run modern desktop apps.

Recommended setup:

  • Windows 10 or Windows 11
  • 4 GB RAM or more
  • 200 MB free disk space
  • Internet access for downloading releases and list updates
  • A screen resolution of 1366 × 768 or higher

🚀 First Run

After installation:

  1. Open EUfirst.
  2. Wait for the main list to load.
  3. Browse by category, score, or topic.
  4. Open an item to view its details.
  5. Compare options before you choose a tool.

If the app includes search, use it to find tools by name, model type, or country.

🧭 How to Use the List

EUfirst is built like a clean reference list. You can use it in a few simple ways:

  • Sort by sovereignty score to find stronger EU options
  • Filter by GDPR compliance to narrow your choices
  • Check AI Act readiness before using a model in a project
  • Look for open-source tools if you want more control
  • Review hosting details if data location matters

📚 Example Use Cases

EUfirst can help when you need to:

  • Pick an AI writing tool for a small team
  • Find a chatbot with EU data hosting
  • Compare open-source LLMs for local use
  • Review vendors before a privacy check
  • Build a shortlist for procurement or internal review

🗂️ Topics Covered

This repository focuses on:

  • AI tools
  • EU AI Act
  • European alternatives
  • GDPR
  • LLMs
  • Open source

  • Whether the project can run with less dependence on non-EU services
