Boundary is an AI-powered decision-support web app designed to help users navigate social and financial choices responsibly.

Getting Started

Prerequisites

• Node.js (v20 or higher recommended)
• Firebase Project

Installation

1. Clone the repository:

   git clone <repository-url>
   cd Boundary

2. Install dependencies:

   npm install

3. Set up environment variables: Copy .env.example to .env and fill in your Firebase and AI credentials. See ENV_SETUP.md for detailed instructions.

Running the App Locally

Start the development server:

npm run dev

The app will be available at http://localhost:5000.

Building for Production

Build the application:

npm run build

Start the production server:

npm run start

Deployment

Boundary is designed to be deployable on any platform that supports Node.js.

Hosting Suggestions

• Vercel: You may need to adapt the Express server for serverless deployment using a library like serverless-http.
• Render / Railway / Heroku: These platforms support standard Node.js environments and will work with the current setup.
