Retwitter is a custom web frontend server for Twitter (also known as "X", not to be confused with the band X Japan or the demonic entity more commonly known as Sonic.exe).
It can be used to restore the old layout and feel of Twitter.

Retwitter is very early in development. You should not expect a perfect user experience, should you choose to use it. If you encounter any problems while using Retwitter, please make an issue so that we can track them easily.
We currently do not support an automated install. If you wish to use Retwitter, you must set it up manually. Fortunately, that isn't too hard!

Retwitter is based on the excellent work of The Rehike Maintainers. It is based on the Rehike YouTube frontend project.
Thanks to aubymori and her long-since-abandoned project titter of a similar vain to this one, from which I took templates early on in development. She really saved me a lot of time and effort.
Thanks to Isabella Lulamoon and her "Make twitter.com Work Again" project, from which I took SSL certificate generation scripts. This process is a pain to figure out and I didn't want to figure it out again, so she also saved me a lot of time and effort.

Use of these third party services is governed by their respective licenses. Where possible, their application will be optional.
Any original work of this repository, which is not derived from Rehike source code, is licensed to you under the GNU General Public License version 3.0. All such instances are marked in their respective files.
Additionally, as the copyright holder of all such work, I grant The Rehike Maintainers (I don't know how that exactly works as a legal entity, but this effectively means Isabella Lulamoon and Aubrey Pankow), the authors of the original project, an unlimited license to all original parts of the Retwitter codebase in its entirety. That way, if I make a useful change for them, they can reintegrate it into their project and license it under their terms. It's the least I can do for basing this project off so much of their hard work.
