Welcome to Project Nebula, a social deduction game inspired by Gnosia. This document covers everything you need to know about playing the game, understanding your role, and mastering the ship's systems.
The crew is trapped on a ship with one or more Gnosia—aliens that have taken human form.
- Humans: Your goal is to identify all Gnosia and put them into Cold Sleep (elimination) before they outnumber the crew.
- Gnosia: Your goal is to eliminate enough crew members so that the Gnosia count is equal to or greater than the human count.
Each game follows a cycle of Day and Night phases:
The crew gathers in the main cabin to talk. This is the time to share information (or lies) and observe everyone's behavior. Use the Chat Panel to communicate.
After discussion, a voting round begins.
- Nominations: Players nominate others for Cold Sleep.
- The Vote: Everyone votes on the nominees. The player with the strict majority of votes is sent to Cold Sleep.
- Ties: If there is a tie, no one is eliminated for that day.
A brief transition period where players can have final chats or prepare for the night.
The most dangerous time.
- Gnosia choose a target to kill.
- Special Roles (Engineer, Doctor, Guardian, etc.) perform their unique night actions.
- Humans wait for dawn, hoping they aren't the target.
The ship wakes up. If someone was killed by Gnosia, it is announced. If a Guardian Angel successfully protected a target, the kill is blocked.
| Icon | Role | Description | Ability |
|---|---|---|---|
| ⚡ | Engineer | The ship's scanner specialist. | Scan: Check one player at night to see if they are Gnosia. |
| ☤ | Doctor | Expert in biological remains. | Inspect: Check a player in Cold Sleep to see if they were Gnosia. |
| 🛡 | Guardian Angel | The silent protector. | Protect: Choose one player to guard at night. If Gnosia target them, the kill fails. |
| ⚖ | Lawyer | Master of ship protocol. | Dismiss: Once per game, you can cancel a Voting round entirely, preventing any elimination. |
| ◈ | Human | Standard crew member. | No special ability, but your vote is your greatest weapon. |
| Icon | Role | Description | Ability |
|---|---|---|---|
| 👁 | Gnosia | The alien infiltrators. | Kill: Vote with other Gnosia to eliminate one player each night. |
| ◈ | Traitor | A human who has joined the Gnosia. | Stealth: You appear "Human" to Engineer scans and Doctor inspections. You win with Gnosia. |
| ♾ | Illusionist | A master of deception. | Infect: At the start of the mission, you choose one human to turn into a Gnosia. |
| (Any) | Shapeshift | (Illusionist Only) | Impersonate: Change your name and appearance in chat to frame others. |
- Emote Wheel: Hold your profile image in the lobby or game to open the emote wheel. Selecting an emote plays a short animation for everyone to see.
- Auras: When you win a game or meet certain conditions, you gain Aura Rolls. Equip stunning visual effects (like Golden Saiyan, Glitch, or Judgement) to stand out.
- The Host has control over the ship's music. They can toggle the Lobby and End Game music themes for all players.
- Individual players can adjust their own volume or mute the music in the side panel.
- Gnosia Count: Set the number of Gnosia (manual or auto-calculate based on player count).
- Role Toggles: Customize the match by enabling or disabling characters like the Lawyer or Illusionist.
- As Engineer: Don't reveal your scans too early, or the Gnosia will target you. But don't wait too long, or you'll take your secrets to the grave.
- As Gnosia: Use the private Gnosia chat to coordinate kills. Try to blend in with the crew by voting for "obvious" targets.
- As Illusionist: Your infection is powerful because it grows your team. Coordinate with your new ally immediately!
- As Lawyer: Save your dismiss ability for when the crew is about to make a huge mistake (like voting out the real Engineer).
Good luck, crew. The void is cold, but the Gnosia are colder.
