ROM Changes

• The Pokémon Center Nurse's dialogue has been reduced.

APWorld Changes

• The location added for the daily berry girl in the Flower Shop has had its name fixed.
• In the previous patch, all locations tied to accessories from the Pick a Peck Flower Shop were set to only give items from certain locations (namely, anything that wasn't a berry, in an attempt to prevent all of these locations from being filled with berries for other Pick a Peck accessories). This has been removed, as it tended to disrupt generation, and essentially nullified the ability to use any of these locations with plando settings, up to and including the priority_locations option in the settings file.

Platinum AP Manual 2.4 Changelog

ROM Changes

• The AP PDA can now be accessed with the R Button, without the use of the item.
  • You will still receive the AP PDA upon entering the AP Items room.
  • Berries have been added to the PDA.
• All Berry Trees have been replaced with random items. Interacting with one will give the player an item.
  • The Berry Searcher Pokétch App is unable to detect these, and will not display berries on the map.
• The Pick a Peck of Colors Flower Shop in Floaroma has been overhauled; the UI and prices have been changed to accommodate the new pick_a_peck_accessories option.
• The Bike is usable in Eterna Gym, the Seven Stars Restaurant, and the Café Cabin.
• There are two changes to the AP Items Room.
  • The player now has the option to receive all 16 Plates at once from the Ruin Maniac.
  • Berries have also been added to the Filler girl.
• The southernmost Strength boulder in the Route 211 Tunnel room of Mt. Coronet has been replaced with a bollard that can be removed by interacting with it from the southern side. The Galactic Grunt that appears in this area will allude to this.

APWorld Changes

• new YAML Options have been added:
  • berry_tree_shuffle - This will add all 118 of the game's Berry Trees as locations to the game.
    • If the player is playing with Battle Zone off, the four trees in the Fight Area will remain in logic with the S.S. Ticket.
  • pick_a_peck_accessories - All 22 accessory purchases in Floaroma's Flower Shop will be added as locations. All accessory prices (excluding those that cost 1 Berry) have been reduced to 10% of their original price. As such, having this option on will add the 83 berries necessary to purchase the accessories as items.
• The daily berry girl in the Flower Shop has been added as a location.
• The location 'Mt. Coronet (Route 211 Tunnel Room) - Hidden Item on Center Boulder' has had its logic corrected.

Platinum AP Manual 2.3 Changelog

ROM Changes

New Additions

• A new item, the AP PDA, has been added to the game.
  • It can be used anywhere in the game to collect received items.
  • Compared to the AP Items Room proper, the AP PDA has a very small selection of items; namely, it only contains progression items and Pokétch apps.
  • You will receive it the first time you enter the AP Items Room.
• A new item, the Marsh Pass, has been added to the game.
  • Depending on YAML options set in-game, the Great Marsh in Pastoria will either ask for p500 or to be shown a Marsh Pass.
  • Unlike the Storage Key, this is a wholly original item, inspired by Red/Blue's Safari Pass.
• The Great Marsh will no longer count your steps.
  • You will have to manually exit or click "Retire" in the menu to leave the Great Marsh.
• HMs can now be forgotten at any time.
  • Given that there is no item storage in this game and, thus, no way to go somewhere without access to the HMs you have, this should not cause any softlocks (unless you're outwardly trying).
  • If this does cause any issue, please report it.

Changes/Fixes

• Access to the Member Card event in Canalave City no longer requires the National Dex.
• Access to Valley Windworks is now restricted by whether or not you've picked up the Works Key, not whether you've beaten the grunts in Floaroma Meadow.
  • Under the hood, the game never checks for the Works Key; it checks for the event flag set after you beat the Floaroma Grunts. I've simply moved that flag to the AP Items Room (and the AP PDA) when you pick up the Works Key. (So if any of you PKHeX holdouts just give yourself the Works Key, it's not gonna work!)
• The AP Manual Check will now be guaranteed to be the first item your Partner Pokémon picks up in Amity Square.
• Maylene can no longer be rebattled.
• The Badge Check at the Pokémon League has been streamlined.
  • Mostly an under-the-hood change, rather than a big thing you'll see during gameplay. This should fix a potential crash, though.
• The Galactic Grunts in Veilstone will no longer disappear after defeating Candice.
• The lighting in Hotel Grand Lake's reception has been fixed.
• Various small improvements have been made to the menus in the AP Items Room.
  • Receiving a Plate will now return you to the menu to get more Plates.
  • The Plates menu now correctly terminates, instead of jumping to the YAML options text.
  • An extra A press on every 'item received' text box has been removed.
• The Sprayduck and Rule Book items have been removed.
  • It is still possible to water berries.

APWorld Changes

New Additions

• new YAML Options have been added:
  • marsh_pass - Having this on gates access to the Great Marsh in Pastoria City until you've received the Marsh Pass item, as mentioned in the ROM Changes.

Changes/Fixes

• Logic has been updated for defeating Crasher Wake.
• Logic has been updated for the Early Fly option's interaction with Floaroma's region.
• Logic has been updated for the item in the northeast corner of Lake Acuity.
• Two items on Route 214 had their categories swapped; this was fixed.
• Mirroring the ROM change, there will no longer be a Sprayduck or Rule Book. ("I know! I'll just !getitem them!" well how are you gonna acquire them in-game, silly???)

Known Issues

• Certain variables relating to the Arceus goal are unstable, and it's hard to test exactly when they're working. They've been changed, but if there are still issues, please report them.

Platinum AP Manual 2.2.1 Hotfix

Fixed an error in the APWorld that causes generation to fail. This release only contains the APWorld; refer back to the main 2.2 release for the full download.

This release ALSO will contain a YAML generated on 0.5.0. The YAML in the 2.2 release is generated on Archipelago 0.6.0, and users attempting to use that one with an earlier version of Archipelago (especially 0.5.0 and 0.5.1) will experience an error in generation with it.

Bear in mind that YAMLs are only included in releases as a convenience; if the included YAML does not match your Archipelago version, you may generate your own as mentioned in the full setup guide, in step 3 of Generating a seed.

Platinum AP Manual 2.2 Changelog

ROM Changes

New Additions

• A new cast member was added to the AP Items room to make world changes based on YAML settings. In addition, questions regarding YAML settings will be asked at the beginning of a seed, in the players' room.
• Those YAML-based changes are:
  • Blockers on Route 214 and Route 212. These prevent access to the lower part of East Sinnoh without Surf.
  • The ability to remove the blockade at Valor Lakefront preventing access to Route 222.
• A new AP Items room has been added to the basement of Hotel Grand Lake's Reception.
• The Storage Key has been added to the AP Mailbox.

Changes/Fixes

• New flags have been given to the Mural at Celestic Town and the Matchup Checker Girl in the Great Marsh, hopefully preventing issues with accessing their events.
• The Miscellaneous S-Z list in the AP Items room has been correctly set. In addition, Leftovers have been added to the list.
• Selecting 'Coin Case' now correctly gives the Coin Case item.

APWorld Changes

New Additions

• Five new checks have been added (We've passed 700! 🥳):
  • Jubilife TV - Mask from Man on 2F / Talk to the man on the second floor of Jubilife TV who gives the Chimchar/Piplup/Turtwig Mask.
  • Amity Square - Partner Pokémon Pickup / When running around with a Pokémon in Amity Square, they can pick up items. One of these is an AP Manual Check.
  • Pokémon Mansion - Soothe Bell from Maid in Center Bedroom / In the center of the three bedrooms is a Maid, who typically gives a Soothe Bell.
  • Solaceon Ruins B2F - Gift from Lending Defog to Hiker / When HM05 is in your inventory, speaking with the Hiker on B2F will trigger a prompt.
  • Floaroma Meadow - Hidden Item 11 / We forgot one. No one ever noticed.
• new YAML Options have been added:
  • storage_key - The Storage Key from Diamond & Pearl can be added to the pool, allowing access to the Galactic Warehouse.
  • early_fly - Fly and Cobble Badge will be guaranteed before you leave the first few towns.
  • open_sunyshore - You can remove the blockade at Valor Lakefront preventing access to Route 222.
  • extra_roadblocks - Adds blockers on Route 214 and Route 212. These prevent access to the lower part of East Sinnoh without Surf.

Changes/Fixes

• A few checks have had their names and categories updated.
• Access to Celestic and Mt. Coronet has been updated to account for reaching it via the Tunnel to 1F during the climb to Mt. Coronet.

Known Issues

• The AP Manual Check in Amity Square presently is not guaranteed to be the first item your partner picks up. But it usually is.
• so sophie and i did a test seed but it never sent us to the battle zone so if something in the battle zone is awful, i have no idea-- it's probably fine though

THE APWORLD IN THIS RELEASE WILL CAUSE GENERATION TO FAIL

Please replace this release's APWorld with the one found in the 2.2.1 Hotfix.

Platinum AP Manual 2.1 Changelog

ROM Changes

New Additions

• The employees in the AP Items Room now offer all of the Filler Items found in the item pool.
• After beating the Distortion World, Azelf can be found at the entrance to Lake Valor. Speaking with Azelf will allow you to revisit the drained Lake Valor.

Changes/Fixes

• All members of the AP Items Room will ask the player if they are here for items before opening their item list.
• Fossils can now be used from the start of the game.
• The need to return to Professor Rowan after clearing the Distortion World has been removed. Sunyshore will now open immediately upon returning to Sendoff Spring with Cynthia.
• The girl at the Great Marsh now only requires a single Pokémon to be caught for the Matchup Checker location.
• Arceus will now use a new variable to check for randomization, hopefully preventing crashes.

APWorld Changes

New Additions

• The Leftovers have been added to the pool of Useful Items.
• "Northern Sinnoh Fly" has been added to the YAML options. This option will make HM02 and the Cobble Badge logically expected before traversing through Mt. Coronet's basement and heading to Route 216.

Changes/Fixes

• In congruence with the ROM changes, "Congratulations from Professor Rowan" is no longer an event in the APWorld. Sunyshore's region only requires "Cyrus Beaten at Distortion World" to enter.
• Items listed on "Route 210 Mid -" have had their logic adjusted to account for the scenario where the player has Defog and access to Celestic, but not the SecretPotion or Bicycle.

Known Issues

• The potential crash upon facing Arceus has not been tested thoroughly, as it requires full playthroughs to fully check. If you experience a crash, pick up the Azure Flute again before challenging Arceus.
• There are still likely to be NPCs that have their flags set and act as though their item was already given. Please continue to report any that you find.
• Buck remains invisible for the five steps he accompanies you in Stark Mountain.

Platinum AP Manual 2.0 Changelog

ROM Changes

New Additions

• The AP Items Room can be found in the basement of all 18 Pokémon Centers. Every item needed for Progression, along with every filler item in the Key Items section and every single Pokétch app, can be acquired in-game through this facility.
• The AP Items Room and its functionality is described by Teala upon first entering.
• The AP Items Room will also contain options relating to Goal and Event Legendary randomization.
• The Pokémon Center Aides blocking the basement in Sandgem and Jubilife have been moved.
• Newmoon Island, Seabreak Path and the Flower Paradise, Rotom's Room, and the Hall of Origin can all be accessed simply with the acquisition of their corresponding Event Items.
• The National Dex is required to access the Harbor Inn in Canalave, the Hall of Origin on Spear Pillar, and for Professor Oak to appear on Route 224.

Changes/Fixes

• The Bicycle can now be used in the Contest Hall, all buildings in Hotel Grand Lake, and Amity Square.
• Using the Pokémon Center while riding the Bicycle will no longer remove you from your Bicycle.
• Cheryl, Mira, Riley, Marley, and Buck will no longer remove you from your Bicycle when they go with you. You will still be unable to mount or dismount the bike while they are following you, however.
• Buck has been moved to the back of Stark Mountain's cavern.
• Chasing the Galactic Grunt after the completion of Pastoria Gym now works as intended.
• The Suite Key at Hotel Grand Lake is once again a standard hidden item, as in the vanilla game.
• Platinum APManual logo added to title screen.
• Archipelago logo added to the Pokémon Center basement.
• The AP Manual Check's bag sprite has been updated.

APWorld Changes

New Additions

• The Goal "Hall of Origin - Defeat Arceus" has been added (internally referred to as "Plate Hunt"). This goal is set in-game when receiving the Azure Flute in the AP Items Room.
• Plate Hunt will require collecting all 16 Plates and the Azure Flute and ascending to Spear Pillar to battle Arceus.
• The Azure Flute, Member Card, Oak's Letter, and Pal Pad items have been added to the pool.
• All Plates are now Progression Items.
• The checks in the pits on Route 228 are now logically obtainable if you have the ability to Fly.
• The Super Rod has been marked as Progression. (This is to prevent it from being potentially being removed from multiworld item pools; at present, however, it does not unlock any checks.)
• There is only one instance of TM70 - Flash in the item pool. If the 'veilstone_flash' option is on, you will only find it in Veilstone Dept. Store.
• Defog logic is now customizable.
• "Defog Traversal" allows one to determine whether stepping on foggy routes without the ability to clear said fog is considered logical for the playthrough.
• The "Defog Pickup" option allows one to gain similar function to previous versions of the Manual, where traveling on foggy routes is allowed, but picking up the items there is not.
• The Battle Zone and all checks requiring the double battle against Flint and Volkner in the Fight Area are now optional.
• (Internal) The Dowsing Machine requirements can now be toggled on the Hidden Items, removing the need for the "Dowsing Items" category.

Changes/Fixes

• Many locations have had their names adjusted and been reordered for a smoother playthrough.

Known Issues

• There is a possible crash upon facing Arceus. It can be resolved by picking the Azure Flute up again and setting your preferences again. (Either save before battling Arceus, or pick up the Azure Flute directly before going to Spear Pillar.)
