Suggestions to Improve Map Navigation #32

Description

@mmmmmmmm141516

Thank you for implementing my previous suggestion, it is really convenient! The fact that the camera automatically returns to the player's location saves a lot of time. I was thinking about what other features could make raids more efficient and reduce unnecessary actions, and I came up with a couple of QoL features that could save a lot of time and make map navigation much easier.

  1. Persistent POI markers on the edge of the map

It would be great if the player could select any POI (including custom pins), and that location would always be displayed on the edge of the map, even when it is outside the current view.

This would make it much easier to know which direction to move without having to constantly zoom out or manually check the map.

This would be especially useful for marking favorite extraction points.

  1. Route creation system (based on the first feature)

After having persistent POI markers, it would be possible to create a route using selected POIs.

For example, there could be a "Create Route" button. After pressing it, the mouse enters POI selection mode, and the order in which POIs are selected determines the route order.

For example:

  1. The player selects 10 POIs.
  2. Only the first POI in the route is displayed.
  3. When the player gets close to that POI (for example, within a 10–20 meter radius), its persistent marker automatically disappears.
  4. The next POI in the route becomes active and appears on the edge of the map.

This would make long routes much easier to follow without constantly opening the map.

These are the two main suggestions. The other two are less important:

  1. Distance display for persistent markers

For persistent markers, it would be useful if the distance from the player's current position was displayed below the icon.

I'm not sure if this is technically possible, but it would be very helpful for determining how far I need to run to the next marker.

  1. Global zoom hotkeys

It would be great to have the ability to zoom in and zoom out using keyboard shortcuts (for example, + and -), even when the application is on a second monitor and does not have focus.

These are my main suggestions. I think they would greatly improve QoL and make map navigation more convenient.
