## Vercel Web Analytics Installation
Successfully installed and configured Vercel Web Analytics for this Next.js App Router project.
### Changes Made
1. **Package Installation**
- Installed `@vercel/analytics` v2.0.1 using npm
- Updated package.json with the new dependency
- Updated package-lock.json with dependency tree
2. **Configuration**
- Modified `src/app/layout.tsx` to add Analytics component
- Added import: `import { Analytics } from '@vercel/analytics/next';`
- Placed `<Analytics />` component at the end of the body section, after all other providers
### Implementation Details
Following the official Vercel documentation (https://vercel.com/docs/analytics/quickstart), I:
- Used the Next.js App Router specific instructions
- Imported the Analytics component from `@vercel/analytics/next`
- Added the component to the root layout in the appropriate location
- Preserved all existing code structure and functionality
The Analytics component was placed after the MultiplayerProvider and StoreProvider to ensure it doesn't interfere with existing application logic, while still capturing all page views and interactions.
### Verification
All checks passed successfully:
- ✅ TypeScript compilation (npm run typecheck)
- ✅ ESLint checks (npm run lint)
- ✅ Production build (npm run build)
- ✅ All 102 tests passed (npm test)
- ✅ Database tests passed (npm run test:db)
### Next Steps
To enable Web Analytics:
1. Deploy this update to Vercel
2. Navigate to your project's Analytics section in the Vercel dashboard
3. Click the "Enable" button to activate Web Analytics
4. After the next deployment, analytics data will begin collecting at `/_vercel/insights/*` routes
5. View analytics data through your Vercel project's Analytics dashboard
The implementation is complete and production-ready.
