BindCards

Visual, conditional keymapping for World of Warcraft.

BindCards lets you bind spells, items, toys, mounts, and macros directly to your keyboard and mouse. You do not need to place them on action bars first. Your bars can stay hidden—or disappear entirely—while your bindings remain visible and organized inside the addon.

Bind by context, not by action bar

Bindings live on cards. BindCards automatically provides cards for your shared General actions, current class, specializations, and roles. You can add nested cards for PvP, supported class forms, or any other setup that needs different keys.

The same physical key can keep the same purpose across different specs:

  • Devastation: R casts Eternity Surge.
  • Preservation: R casts Dream Breath.
  • Switching specialization automatically activates the matching card.

When a nested card reuses a key from its parent, the nested card wins while every other parent binding continues to work. This makes one familiar keyboard layout reusable across classes, specs, roles, and content without maintaining matching action bars.

Getting started

  1. Type /bc to open BindCards.
  2. Select your class or active specialization card.
  3. Drag a spell, item, toy, mount, or macro into an empty square.
  4. Click its icon and press the key or mouse button you want to use.

Use the General binder for actions shared between characters and the Class binder for class and specialization abilities. BindCards applies both together; a Class card replaces only duplicate General keys.

Everyday use

  • Quick Bind assigns keys simply by hovering an icon and pressing a key.
  • Right-click a spell to turn it into a macro; #showtooltip icons update automatically.
  • Drag icons to rearrange them. Shift-drag copies an icon.
  • Right-click an assigned icon while binding to clear its key.
  • Use + Card and + Rule for custom conditional setups.
  • Changes that affect protected bindings wait safely until combat ends.

Binding sets

Each character selects two independent sets:

  • one General set shared across characters;
  • one set for the character's current Class.

This keeps shared utility bindings reusable without mixing one class's work into another. Sets can be created, copied, renamed, imported, and exported from the profile window.
