Version 3 #976

Version 2.0.0 of GIRT was released Feb 2021 and there have been a number of changes that I would like to revisit, but would result in potentially interrupting existing workflows.

As such, I would like to start some early exploration on what changes could be made to a 3.0.0 release.

Ideas

• Revisit all key bindings, as some have been set since the first days of the project. There have also been a few requests recently to change or add new default bindings.
• Drop the "small" window mode, requiring a certain minimal terminal window size. This was added very early in the project to allow usage in small terminals, but I doubt it is used. Supporting this feature adds a significant complexity to rendering.
