I think the cause is the fact that farmers delight got a major update and that there is something that has to be done for this mod for it to work. It's said of what to do in the farmers delight server.

ah so that is why EMI failed

Farmer's Delight 1.3.1 added back some deprecated calls for some mods to function with the new versions

Had the same issue. That was probably caused by Farmers Delight update. Now they are reintroduced some of the tags back, wich fixed the issue with crash when hovering, however brewing barrel is non functional and still crash the game when trying to interact with it.
