📖 Overview

Dunăreasc is a stratified, register-driven constructed language built on four source layers: Romanian (grammar spine), Croatian (warmth/nature), German (precision/built environment), and Latin (ceremony/law). It serves as the living tongue of the Danubian State, a fictional polity born from the 1957 secession of a Romanian-majority province from the larger Drakovína Compact.

The language is engineered for acquired comprehension, sociolinguistic realism, and narrative cohesion. Its orthography, register shifts, and phonological drift rules reflect deliberate political, historical, and contact-linguistic design.
