Official Notice: Repository Archival (Effective March 11, 2026)

To all contributors, users, and observers of this repository:

This repository will be formally archived on [March 11, 2026 — one month from posting].

The research conducted in this repository has been completed; interested parties are directed to the 2024 Joint Ontologies Workshop publication Capabilities: An Ontology for details. Research on capabilities will be implemented in a future release of the Common Core Ontologies.

Archiving this repository will ensure it remains accessible for historical reference while clearly indicating that it is no longer under active development or maintenance.

Please note:

  • The repository will remain publicly viewable.
  • No new issues, pull requests, or updates will be accepted after the archival date.
  • Existing materials will remain available for citation and reference purposes.

If you are currently depending on this repository or believe there are reasons it should remain active, please raise those concerns before the archival date.

"Repository for coordinating work for potential capabilities ontology"

The purpose of this repository is to coordinate efforts to create an ontology of capabilities.

A web-protege version of the ontology named 'Capability Ontology v_22 April 2018' is available at https://webprotege.stanford.edu

To access the web-protege version you need to create a user account and email Bill Mandrick for permission.
