Prepare Isaac Capture to host EgoPost under OpenMDW-1.1 while preserving root LICENSE.md verbatim as Apache-2.0.

Adds a license-only src/python/isaaccapture_egopost/ directory, canonical license text, scoped REUSE defaults, and concise contribution guidance. Pre-commit checks source files repository-wide and all EgoPost assets, adds default NVIDIA headers to unannotated first-party files, and repairs default EgoPost license tags while preserving explicit exceptions.

Both packaging paths include the root Apache license. Package discovery and source-archive exclusions keep EgoPost out of Isaac Capture distributions until its integration is explicitly implemented.

Validation: full pre-commit passed; 12 licensing regression cases passed; source archive built and inspected; scikit-build metadata checked; setuptools wheel built from Python-only staging and its license/exclusion check passed. Full native builds remain for CI. Whole-repository REUSE still has legacy gaps and reports the reserved OpenMDW text unused until source files are imported.

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • Documentation

    • Clarified that Apache-2.0 is the default project license, while EgoPost uses OpenMDW-1.1 and third-party materials may have separate terms.
    • Added licensing guidance for contributions, including how license headers are handled.
  • Packaging

    • Project license information is included in Python package metadata and distributions.
    • EgoPost is not included in the source distribution or wheel.
  • Chores

    • License checks now run automatically during pre-commit and can add or update headers.

📝 Walkthrough

The changes define Apache-2.0 as the default license and OpenMDW-1.1 for EgoPost. A new script checks and optionally repairs license annotations, and pre-commit runs it with --fix. Python packaging metadata and contents are updated to declare and include the root license while excluding EgoPost from the source distribution. New tests cover license policy, repair behavior, and wheel contents.

The current license assignment is correct, but the checker would not catch a future incorrect EgoPost default. Fix that safeguard before relying on it for imported source files.

Establish the OpenMDW license boundary while preserving Apache defaults and keeping EgoPost out of current distributions. Automate source annotations and license validation, with canonical license texts kept free of project headers.
