Basic Usage

Learn how to use the Hash Rate Test Script with these basic instructions:

  1. Running the Script

    python main.py

  2. Understanding the Output

    • Progress Bar: Shows the completion percentage of the hash calculations.
    • Metrics: Displays detailed information about system performance, including CPU usage, memory usage, and more.

  3. Stopping the Script

    • The script will automatically stop once the hash rate test is complete. To stop it manually, you can use Ctrl+C in the terminal.

Custom Footer: Explanation of Returned Values

  1. Running hash rate test with 420000 iterations: This line just says that we're running a test to calculate the hash rate using 420,000 iterations.

  2. Iterations: The total number of hash calculations performed. Here, it's 420,000.

  3. Number of threads used: The number of CPU threads used during the test. In this case, it's 8.

  4. Start time: When the test started. Here, it's "2024-05-27 21:37:29".

  5. End time: When the test ended. Here, it's "2024-05-27 21:38:09".

  6. Total time taken: The total duration for the test in seconds. For example, 39.506838 seconds.

  7. Hash rate: The speed of hashing, given in hashes per second. Here, it's 10631.07 hashes/second.

  8. Average time per hash: The average duration it took to compute each hash. For instance, 0.0000940639 seconds.

  9. Min time for a single hash: The shortest time taken to compute a single hash during the test. Here, it's 0.0000207424 seconds.

  10. Max time for a single hash: The longest time taken to compute a single hash during the test. Here, it's 0.0118658543 seconds.

  11. Average hash time: The average time taken for each hash, which appears similar to the average time per hash. Here, it's 0.0000918782 seconds.

Memory Usage

  1. Memory usage before test: The amount of memory used before starting the test. Here, it's 12.33 MB.

  2. Memory usage after test: The amount of memory used after the test. Here, it's 28.42 MB.
