Added a third topic to the category "Open", adressing the FAIR paradigm (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable and Reusable) with two recommendations: 1) The project should use an established and trusted open access repository (like Zenodo or Dataverse) to ensure open access and long term preservation of content. 2) The project should make use of digital persistent identificators (PID) for due credit to the project, or a specfic software release in scientific literature (by Digital Object Indentifiers: DOI) and due credit to the individual project team members / developers (by Open Researcher and Contributor ID: ORCID). Both practices have been already embraced by over 20 OSGeo projects since 2019 as good practice.
