Summary

Prepare 0.6.9 so PyPI and Docker users can install the synth format-slip recovery from #295. Promote the fix into the release changelog, bump the project and lockfile version, and update the user-facing installation pins.

The Dockerfile pin is synchronized by the release workflow after the new wheel is published, as documented in docs/releasing.md.

Test plan

  • uv run python tools/check.py: ruff and strict mypy pass; 2463 tests passed, 146 environment-dependent skips, 8 slow/perf deselections.
  • Build wheel and sdist from a clean Git archive; install the wheel with the Postgres extra into a fresh environment using dependency ranges from PyPI, then verify the clean-archive wheel in that environment.
  • Installed CLI reports 0.6.9; Anthropic 0.125.0 and OpenAI 3.24.0 retain the same SDK majors as the lockfile (0.125.0 / 3.23.0). uv pip check passes.
  • Installed parser preserves fenced examples, recovers missing closes on normal stops, and still requests retry for real budget cutoffs; packaged prompt hardening is present.
  • Old user-facing pins remain only in historical release notes and the post-publish Dockerfile pin.
  • GHCR package visibility is public (GitHub package API); the currently published 0.6.8 manifest returns HTTP 200 using an anonymous registry token. Bare manifest requests require the standard registry authentication challenge; the 0.6.9 tag is created by the release workflow.

Notes / breaking changes

No additional runtime behavior or interface changes beyond the already merged synth fix. After CI passes and this PR merges, publish tag v0.6.9 to trigger the release pipeline.

Release the synth normal-stop format-slip fix and update project metadata, release notes, and downstream installation pins. The release workflow syncs the Dockerfile pin after PyPI publication.

Make the GHCR package public before publishing these commands.

The release workflow pushes ghcr.io/opendikw/dikw-core:0.6.9 but does not make the package public. An unauthenticated manifest request for this exact tag returns 401 authentication required. Users who run either documented command without logging in therefore cannot pull the image.
