Metaprogression

Overview

At the start of the game, the player will have no cards unlocked. As they play through the tutorial (automatically started when beginning their first run), they will unlock 5 cards, then unlock several more cards upon completing it.

From there, each time the player clears the highest number floor that they have cleared (up to a max number of times, detailed below), they will be able to open a booster pack that unlocks 3 new cards at the end of the run. These packs are not random.

Card packs are unlocked linearly, so if the player clears floor 2 before getting all card packs for clearing floor 1, they will just receive the next floor 1 card pack.

Max pack unlocks per floor:

• Floor 1 - 2 packs
• Floor 2 — 3 packs
• Floor 3 — 3 packs
• Floor 4 — 8 times (2 packs will only contain 1 card)

• Mana Bullet: Unlocked during the tutorial (used to teach bullet spells).
• Orbiter Shield: Unlocked during the tutorial (used to teach orbit spells).
• Fireball: Unlocked during the tutorial (used to teach status effects, chording).
• Bomb: Unlocked during the tutorial (used to teach bombs, self-damaging attacks, cool chording).
