Prepare the source-policy decision for integration without changing the library API or the receiving project's CI gate.
PhotoCraft #9190 at df2b3a7 still fails the original Git-source predicate: its edit-session dependency points outside storytold. The gate exception and standalone interaction workflow are absent in the current head. Document the organisation-owned and explicitly reviewed vendor routes; neither is approved yet. Include a dependency-free local-helper comparison with the same Cancel, changed document/object, revision/Undo, invalid proposal and no-op behavior.
Validation: all existing lifecycle, consumer, retry and compile-fail tests pass; the new example runs eight scenarios against both implementations (16 checks). Strict Clippy and formatting pass on Rust 1.99.1. The current host lockfile's unchanged source predicate reproduces the external-source rejection.
This is a tested standalone alternative and source decision guide, not an approved PhotoCraft migration or a full host build. Host integration checks remain required after maintainers choose a source. No API expansion, policy exception or upstream comment is included.
