Data Broker Opt-Out List (Open Data)

A free, open dataset of 499 U.S. data brokers and people-search sites with their official opt-out links — maintained by PersProtect.

If a stranger can buy your home address, phone number and family ties for a few dollars, it's because of companies like these. This list exists so anyone — privacy researchers, journalists, developers, or people just trying to disappear from the internet — can find and use the opt-out links in one place.

Fields

Field	Description
company	Broker / site name
domain	Primary domain
optOutUrl	Official opt-out / suppression URL
optOutEmail	Opt-out email, where the broker uses one
difficulty	Easy / Moderate / Hard — how much friction the opt-out has (enriched subset)
dataExposed	The personal-data classes the broker's listings expose (enriched subset)
optOutMethod	How the opt-out works (web form, email, account, etc.) (enriched subset)
guide	Link to a step-by-step opt-out guide for that broker on PersProtect (enriched subset)

499 brokers have a company, domain and opt-out URL. 143 of them are additionally enriched with difficulty, exposed-data and a step-by-step opt-out guide.

Methodology & caveats

• Compiled from public sources and PersProtect's own opt-out documentation.
• Data brokers change their opt-out flows often — verify the link before relying on it, and expect to repeat removals, because brokers re-list people from fresh public records.
• This is information, not legal advice.
