PupBar is an Ashita v4 addon for HorizonXI Puppetmaster players.
It tracks active Maneuvers, HorizonXI's server-reported overload chance, modeled elemental burden, PupBar timers, and automaton HP / MP / TP in one compact resizable HUD.
Created by: Plate
Version: 1.0.2
Platform: HorizonXI / Ashita v4
The current layout combines automaton status and active Maneuvers into one compact XIUI-inspired panel.
At a glance: the automaton MP bar flashes from 1-20% MP; a 0/0 MP frame does not flash.
- Tracks only your own Maneuvers.
- Supports Fire, Ice, Wind, Earth, Thunder, Water, Light, and Dark.
- Tracks up to three active Maneuvers.
- Orders active Maneuvers from oldest / least time remaining on the left to newest on the right.
- Uses element icons instead of long element-name labels to save space.
- Displays
x1,x2, orx3stack count. - Shows HorizonXI's server-reported Overload percentage.
- Shows a live modeled Burden Gauge for each active element.
- Burden gauges are vertical and color-coded by visible gauge level.
- Shows Maneuver time remaining.
- Timer turns yellow at 10 seconds, red at 5 seconds, and flashes from 10 seconds through 1 second.
- Shows automaton HP / MP / TP bars.
- Automaton MP bar flashes at 20% or lower.
- Automaton TP bar is visually full at 1000 TP while still displaying the real TP value.
- Entire HUD is movable and resizable.
- High-visibility resize grip in the bottom-right corner.
- Auto-hides when there is no relevant information to display.
- Settings persist between sessions.
- Includes public burden-model tuning commands for testing and customization.

Load the addon:
/addon load pupbar
Reload after updating:
/addon reload pupbar
Unload:
/addon unload pupbar
The automaton section appears while your automaton is active.
- Pink / red bar.
- Displays current HP percentage.
- Green bar.
- Flashes when MP reaches 20% or lower.
- Blue bar.
- The visual bar is considered full at 1000 TP.
- Actual TP is still displayed numerically above 1000.
Example:
500 TP = 50% bar
1000 TP = full bar
1400 TP = full bar, value still reads 1400
The burden gauge colors are a visual warning system.
0-30% = Green
31-60% = Yellow
61-84% = Dark Orange
85-100% = Red
The color follows the visible smoothed bar height.
This is visual only and does not change the burden formula or HorizonXI's overload calculation.
By default:
50 burden = 100% full visual gauge
Examples:
15 burden = 30%
25 burden = 50%
40 burden = 80%
50 burden = 100%
60 burden = still visually capped at 100%
Change the visual scale with:
/pupbar gauge <value>
Example:
/pupbar gauge 50
Type:
/pupbar help
for the in-game command list.
Toggle the HUD on or off.
/pupbar
Force the HUD to display.
/pupbar show
Hide the HUD while leaving the addon loaded.
/pupbar hide
Clear currently tracked Maneuver information and temporary tracking state.
/pupbar clear
This does not erase saved settings.
Reset addon settings and HUD position / size to defaults.
/pupbar reset
Useful if the HUD is resized incorrectly or moved off-screen.
Save current settings.
/pupbar save
Reload saved settings from disk.
/pupbar reload
Toggle troubleshooting information.
/pupbar debug
This is mainly intended for testing packet detection and burden-model behavior.
Show or hide PupBar timers.
/pupbar timer on
/pupbar timer off
When enabled:
- 11+ seconds: normal timer
- 10-6 seconds: yellow + flashing
- 5-1 seconds: red + flashing
Automatically hide the HUD when there is nothing relevant to display.
/pupbar autohide on
/pupbar autohide off
Recommended:
/pupbar autohide on
Show or hide the automaton HP / MP / TP section.
/pupbar petstatus on
/pupbar petstatus off
Show or hide supported HUD headers.
/pupbar headers on
/pupbar headers off
Show or hide supported HUD row/background elements.
/pupbar background on
/pupbar background off
Adjust supported background opacity.
Example:
/pupbar opacity 80
Restrict the HUD to Puppetmaster main job.
/pupbar puponly on
/pupbar puponly off
Recommended:
/pupbar puponly on
These commands affect only the addon's modeled burden system.
They do not modify HorizonXI server-side burden or overwrite the real server-reported Overload value.
Display the current burden-model settings.
/pupbar model
Example output:
Activate=35 | Decay=1 every 4s | Threshold=29 | Gauge=50 burden = 100%
Restore the default public model.
/pupbar model reset
Defaults:
Activate burden = 35
Decay = 1 burden every 4 seconds
Threshold = 29
Gauge maximum = 50 burden
Enable or disable the modeled burden calculation.
/pupbar formula on
/pupbar formula off
The real HorizonXI Overload column remains available.
Set modeled burden decay.
Example:
/pupbar decay 1 4
Meaning:
Remove 1 burden every 4 seconds
Another example:
/pupbar decay 2 5
Meaning:
Remove 2 burden every 5 seconds
Set the modeled overload threshold.
/pupbar threshold 29
Relative adjustments are also supported:
/pupbar threshold +1
/pupbar threshold -1
Set the modeled burden baseline applied by Activate.
/pupbar activateburden 35
Relative adjustments:
/pupbar activateburden +1
/pupbar activateburden -1
Set how much raw burden equals a full visual gauge.
/pupbar gauge 50
This changes only the visual scale.
Set modeled burden for one element.
/pupbar burden fire 42
Relative adjustments:
/pupbar burden fire +5
/pupbar burden fire -5
Set all modeled elemental burden pools.
/pupbar burden all 35
Relative adjustments:
/pupbar burden all +5
/pupbar burden all -5
Set modeled burden based on a desired modeled overload chance.
/pupbar chance fire 20
With a threshold of 29:
29 threshold + 20 = 49 modeled burden
This does not alter HorizonXI's actual Overload percentage.
Reset all modeled burden pools to zero.
/pupbar burdenreset
The experimental model can compare the master's relevant stat against a configured automaton stat.
Set the automaton base stat for an element.
Example:
/pupbar petstat fire 64
Current mapping:
| Maneuver | Relevant Stat |
|---|---|
| Fire | STR |
| Ice | INT |
| Wind | AGI |
| Earth | VIT |
| Thunder | DEX |
| Water | MND |
| Light | CHR |
Dark remains experimental in the modeled stat system.
Display all configured automaton base stats.
/pupbar petstats
The modeled formula uses:
diff = master relevant stat - automaton relevant stat
Current modeled burden added:
| Stat Difference | Burden Added |
|---|---|
| 4 or more | 14 |
| 3 | 16 |
| 2 | 17 |
| 1 | 18 |
| 0 | 19 |
| Below 0 | 20 |
Example:
Master STR = 69
Automaton STR = 64
diff = 5
burden added = 14
This model is still considered experimental and may continue to be refined as HorizonXI behavior is tested.
- The Overload percentage comes from HorizonXI.
- The Burden Gauge is the addon's modeled value.
- Manual tuning commands do not affect the game server.
- The addon is designed specifically for HorizonXI / Ashita v4.

PupBar is a community addon and is not affiliated with Square Enix or HorizonXI.
This bug-fix release changes the MP warning so a frame reporting 0% MP does not flash continuously.
Current behavior:
- MP 21-100%: normal green bar
- MP 1-20%: flashing warning
- MP 0%: no flashing
This specifically fixes the constant warning seen on automaton frames that have 0/0 MP.
PupBar now tracks active automaton status effects directly in the pet panel.
- Real FFXI status icons appear beneath the TP bar.
- Known-duration effects display countdown timers centered under their icons.
- Effects are removed when they wear off.
- Reapplying the same effect refreshes it instead of creating a duplicate.
- Buff state is cleared when the automaton is activated, deactivated, dies, despawns, changes, or the player zones.
- Maneuver buffs remain in their existing Maneuver columns and are not duplicated in the pet-status row.
