About Me

Hi, I’m Liam Degand, a fourth-year Computer Science student at the University of Victoria specializing in networks and communication. I’m passionate about learning new technologies and building impactful projects. Currently diving deeper into front end development, NLP's and API's as part of my co-op with the National Research Canada (NRC).

Based in Victoria, BC, Canada
Mainly work with Python, C, Java, HTML/CSS/JS, and have experience with tools like Apache Airflow, MongoDB, AWS, and GNU Radio.
Fluent in English and French.
In my spare time, you’ll find me cooking, hiking, surfing, or enjoying other outdoor activities.

    • Built features, debugged, and triaged a staff portal using MUI, React, Node.js, and C# for middleware connected to SQL databases.
    • Enhanced an NLP model with a multi-task approach using PyTorch and Pandas.

    • Triaged code failures, explored root causes, and worked closely in an agile team.
