Finalize release: Zenodo DOI + ACM Artifacts Available badge #2

Tracking the remaining steps to obtain the ACM "Artifacts Available" badge for the KDD 2026 AI4Sciences paper. The repository release prep is done; what remains is the Zenodo deposit and the badge application. Paused here on 2026-06-22 to pick up later.

Done

• Release-prep merged (Prepare repo for public release and Zenodo archival (KDD 2026 AI4Sci) #1): README badges/byline/abstract/citation, CITATION.cff, .zenodo.json, docs/, ROADMAP.md, Colab demo notebook, data/sleepaccel_demo.npz, UTF-8 config loading. main is at 7ad6f6d.

Remaining

• Cut a GitHub release tagged v1.0.0-kdd2026 from main.
• Connect Zenodo to this repo (GitHub <-> Zenodo integration) so the release auto-deposits and mints a DOI, or reserve a DOI on a Zenodo draft. .zenodo.json already supplies the deposit metadata. Use the concept DOI (resolves to latest) for citations.
• Swap the Zenodo DOI placeholder into:
  • README.md - the HTML comment under the badge row (<!-- After depositing the release on Zenodo, add the archival DOI badge here ... -->); uncomment and fill in.
  • CITATION.cff - the commented line # doi: 10.5281/zenodo.XXXXXXXX.
  • (.zenodo.json has no DOI field; Zenodo assigns it on deposit.)

Notes / caveats

• Verify the badging deadline first. The call-for-artifact-badging page (https://kdd2026.kdd.org/call-for-artifact-badging/) listed deadlines of Jan 4 (Feb cycle) and June 1 (July cycle); the latter is already past as of 2026-06-22. Confirm the form is still open, or email the chairs (kdd-ai4sciences-chairs@acm.org) before investing more time.
• The camera-ready is locked and prints github.com/Q9gJYx/StageGuard with no Zenodo DOI; the jury inspects the camera-ready once. If a DOI in the paper is required for the badge, raise it with the chairs.

Out of scope (longer-term, see ROADMAP.md)

Backbone adapters for DeepSleepNet / SeqSleepNet / AttnSleep / SleepTransformer, an experiments/ reproduction harness, and PyPI packaging. Not needed for the "Available" badge.
