An installed AI runtime now has a verifiable path to the local coordination layer. Add an isolated embedded OpenClaw profile and a verifier that distinguishes missing/conflicting project files, stdio transport, native OpenClaw discovery and untested model access. WorkBuddy uses the current documented .codebuddy/skills and .workbuddy/mcp.json project paths; prior import kits and global settings remain untouched.
Add CLI-only worker run for an explicitly chosen trusted argv. It claims/guards work, invokes the harness without a shell, checks changes, finishes the original claim and sends selected handoffs. A separate worktree lock prevents concurrent runner invocations. Execution failures retain the claim and edits. Opt-in inbox handling accepts only explicit delivered-message receipt IDs and refuses project edits or undelivered ACKs. No arbitrary-command MCP tool, automatic retry, daemon or code approval.
Native evidence: installed OpenClaw 2026.6.8 validated an isolated profile, discovered six workspace Skills and used its actual SessionMcpRuntime for task/claim/completion/handoff calls. A deterministic external harness received the handoff and completed downstream work. No model was invoked. WorkBuddy 5.7.7 official application signature passed; UI inspection timed out and was deferred at the user’s request. OpenClaw model credentials were unavailable and Claude CLI was not logged in.
Validation: 49 focused runner/verifier/setup/integration tests passed. 380 full source tests and 380 independently installed-wheel tests passed on the final head with stable receipts. All four Ubuntu/Windows Python 3.10/3.13 CI jobs and branch digest passed. Includes an ASCII-locale regression for UTF-8 Chinese task/message packets. Native plugin/Skill validation, mirrored assets, config, JSON/YAML and changed local links passed. Adds realistic use-case/search entry points and package metadata without claiming adoption, rankings or productivity gains. Includes task brief, manifest, branch digest and native evidence.
