Goal: #127 is closed with every one of its 35 boxes either ticked on evidence or recorded as refuted or waived, and everything the review surfaced has landed — the two regressions (fixed by #131), the two documentation corrections, and the lessons the next validation checklist needs.
Where we stand (verified 2026-09-07, complete)
Done.#127 is closed as completed, with 35 of 35 boxes ticked and a closing comment naming where every finding landed. Nothing was waived, so this plan's sub-issue list stands as written — no QEP-6 §3 removal was needed.
All seven work items are closed. The eight open boxes were settled in #133: five by running the check rather than waiving it, because this session had the network and gh the validating session lacked. The org-wide sweep (#134) swept 286 repositories and found zero readers of the old name; the site re-probe (#135) took a census of all 60 Track X rows, 0 cleared, with the mechanism measured rather than inferred, and reported to QuantEcon/workspace-lectures#40; the FRED lag (#136) was measured and had not closed, so §7.2 was reworded and ticked with the date carried as an accepted residual. The two documentation corrections merged as #140 (for #137) and #141 (for #138). main is green on all three workflows at 02c220d.
The close-out found three errors in the validation itself, which is the part worth carrying forward. Re-measuring the four "wrong as written" boxes rather than accepting the verification comment's word changed three of the four verdicts. §2.2 was not wrong: the refutation that this repository "has a single root, 931d626, 50 commits" was a shallow-clone artefact — 931d626 is precisely the 50th ancestor of the head #127 was written against, and git clone --depth=50 reproduces it exactly. That falsehood was scoped to be written into AGENTS.md as a durable fact by #138 and repeated as a checklist lesson by #139; both were corrected before merging. §5.4's refutation was also wrong, in the opposite direction — the flag it said never existed had been present for a 21-minute window that the validating session read eighteen minutes after it cleared.

Settle how each open box closes
The decision issue records a disposition for all eight boxes
Gates: all satisfied in order — nothing in Verify started before Decide recorded "run" for its box, and Close ran only after every item above it had closed.
What this close-out carries forward
The date the FRED August lag closed — not measurable on 2026-09-07; earliest 2026-09-25 (CPILFESL 09-11, INDPRO 09-18, UMCSENT 09-25). The recent: 1 rule is confirmed either way.
The 60 Track X rows and the .mlgh-pages prune — QuantEcon/workspace-lectures#40's work. The rebuild half of the settle gate is now met on all seven cache-bearing hosts, so only the publish tag is outstanding; .ml deploys with keep_files: true and can never clear by publishing.
Sweep coverage not attempted — non-default branches of ~245 low-risk repositories, fork PR heads outside the audit repos, and any out-of-org reader.
Datasets migration — its published-site sweep (QuantEcon/workspace-lectures#40) owns the Track X rows; the §6.2 re-probe reported its per-host table there.
Out of scope / what did not change
No data bytes changed. The manifest-schema change was comment-only, as scoped; each documentation PR also corrected a stale count in the file it touched, flagged explicitly in its body rather than slipped in.
The prune of stale Track X paths on lecture-python-programming.ml's gh-pages belongs to QuantEcon/workspace-lectures#40.
Registering this close-out in status-projects is the owner's call; the automation project it validated is already done there.
