The students are able to explain the basic architecture and operation of a DBMS are able to first convert a given real-world extract into a semantic data model and then map this to a conceptual database schema, which is also normalised not only understand the basic concepts behind the relational query language SQL, but also know how to use SQL fluently can work with database systems from any programming language, especially Java know in principle how SQL queries are optimised can explain in a well-founded way why parallel work on a common dataset will not cause inconsistencies and why database management systems are highly fault-tolerant know how to access a database from a programming environment

About

This repository deals with the lessons and tasks from the module "Datenbankmanagementsysteme" which was taught in the summer term 2020 at the university Duisburg-Essen, campus Essen. The primary language that was used is Postgres SQL.
