Creating an Account

Begin by opening the Hagglehaul website. You will be taken to a login page.

image

If you already have an account, please enter your credentials, press the "Submit" button, and proceed to the section of this guide appropriate to your account role. If you do not, please click on the "Register" button. You will be taken to a registration page.

image

On this page, you may enter a valid email address and a valid password (longer than 2 characters, but shorter than 90). You must also use the radio buttons beneath the password textbox to select your account's role, either a Rider or a Driver. In general, Riders post Trips for Drivers to place bids on, and select a Driver's bid. This determines which Driver will be carrying the Rider on a given Trip. Please keep this in mind when deciding in what role to use Hagglehaul.

When you are finished, click the "Submit" button. You will be taken to the "My Trips" page of your respective role. Then proceed to the section of this guide appropriate to your account role.

My Trips Page

Adding a New Trip

On the My Trips page, there is a blue "+Add Trip" button to the right of the "Confirmed Trips" header.

image

Clicking this button will open a pop-up menu, asking for the Trip's details.

image

Type the desired addresses and select the correct suggestions from the options shown below each textbox to enter the origin and destination, and select the desired date and time using the calendar and list of times shown when you click on the "Select Date and Time" textbox. You must also select the number of passengers by clicking on the desired option from the dropdown menu opened when you click on the box containing "Select passengers". When all information has been filled in, press the "Submit" button to create a new Trip.

Trips in Bidding

Returning to the My Trips page, you may observe three headers. When you have added a new Trip, you will see a card containing its details displayed under the "Trips in Bidding" header.

image

This means that Drivers are able to place bids on your Trip. Bids will be displayed below a Trip's information on its card, containing a Driver's name, current rating, number of ratings, and the amount they have bid. You will also receive an email notifying you of bids your Trip gets. The amount a Driver has bid will be displayed in a blue button, and by clicking this button before the Trip's start time has passed, you will select this Driver's bid. Selecting a Driver's bid confirms the Trip, assigning this Driver to it, emailing that Driver, and moving the Trip to "Confirmed Trips". You may click the orange "Cancel Trip" button on a Trip's card to cancel it at any time.

Confirmed Trips

Once a Trip has been confirmed, it will be displayed below the "Confirmed Trips" header.

image

This card will now display Driver's information and the selected bid's amount instead of the Trip's pickup and destination addresses, and an "Options" dropdown menu has replaced the orange "Cancel Trip" button. The "Options" dropdown allows you to select "Cancel Trip" which will cancel the Trip as before, and "Show More" which will open a pop-up containing the Trip's pickup and destination addresses was well as the selected Driver's information. This includes their email, phone number, and vehicle specifications.

image

image

After a Trip's start time has passed, it will remain below "Confirmed Trips" for 24 hours. While it is there, "Rate Driver:" and a set of 5 stars will appear below the Trip's card.

image

Clicking on one of these starts will open a "Rate Trip" popup, where depending on the number of stars including and to the left of the one you clicked, you will be asked to confirm the numerical rating you want to give to the Driver.

image

Once more than 24 hours after the start time passes, the Trip will be moved below "Archived Trips".

Archived Trips

When more than 24 hours after a confirmed Trip's start time passes, it will be displayed below the "Archived Trips" header. Its displayed information is the same as a confirmed Trip, but it does not have a "Cancel Trip" button or "Options" dropdown, as both are now unnecessary.

image

Additional Notes

A Trip's card will always contain a small preview image of a map, with the Trip's route shown as a line. Clicking on this image opens a Route Preview popup, where the Trip's route can be viewed in detail.

image

When selecting a Driver's bid or canceling a Trip, a confirmation popup will always be shown, asking you to confirm your decision by clicking the orange "Yes" button before the action is completed.
