Summary

  • Archives open in the panel. Enter or Ctrl+PgDn on a zip (and jar, war, nupkg, vsix, whl, apk), tar, .tar.gz/.tgz or lone .gz walks into it like a folder (...\tools.zip\bin); .. climbs back out onto the archive. F3 views a file, Enter runs one, Ctrl+L sizes a folder, F5 copies out through the ordinary copy (destination rules, overwrite prompts, progress). Archives are read-only: F4/F6/F7/F8 and copying into one show a message. Entries escaping with .. or rooted are never extracted. 7z/rar/cab/iso keep opening with the associated program. New code in src/OpenStus/Archives/.
  • Drive menu lines the panels up. Alt+F1/Alt+F2 open the other panel's folder when it is on the picked drive, the root otherwise (Application.DriveTarget).
  • Command-line selection after Ctrl+O. Shift+arrows, Shift+Home/End and Ctrl+Shift+arrows select; Ctrl+A selects the line; Ctrl+C/Ctrl+Ins copy, Shift+Del cuts, Backspace/Del remove, typing replaces. With panels up those chords stay the panel's.
  • Editor colours unknown file types. A plain-text scanner colours numbers (dates, times, versions, IPs, hex), closed strings, URLs, #/;/// comment lines, [section] headers and words like true, null, ERROR. F5 toggles colouring; the key bar shows Plain/Colour.
  • Editor caret is the console cursor. No more inverted cell: DECSCUSR blinking bar (blinking block in overwrite mode), reset to the user's shape on leaving the editor, on Ctrl+O and on exit.
  • More file-type colours. Backups/temporaries (*.bak, *.tmp, *~, ~$*...) brown, media light red, as theme entries PanelTemporary / PanelMedia; more archive extensions coloured.

README key table, help screen and CHANGELOG updated.

Test plan

  • dotnet test - 1842 passed (80 new: archive catalogue/extraction/zip-slip, archive panel navigation, F5 out of / refusals into archives end to end with scripted input, drive target, command-line selection incl. Ctrl+O routing, plain-text tokenizer, editor F5 toggle and caret, cursor-shape escapes, file-type colours)
  • --screenshot with a panel inside a zip renders the archive listing; --ansi shows .bak/.tmp in SGR 33, .png in 91, .zip in 95, .mdf plain
  • Live check in a console: blinking bar caret in F4, Shift+arrow selection after Ctrl+O

🤖 Generated with Claude Code

- Enter or Ctrl+PgDn opens zip (and jar, nupkg, vsix, whl...), tar,
.tar.gz/.tgz and lone .gz files as folders; F3 views, Enter runs,
Ctrl+L sizes and F5 copies out through the ordinary copy. Archives
are read-only: writing into one is refused with a message.
- Alt+F1 / Alt+F2 open the other panel's folder when it is on the
  picked drive.
- After Ctrl+O, Shift+arrows, Shift+Home/End and Ctrl+Shift+arrows
select text on the command line; Ctrl+C / Ctrl+Ins copy, Shift+Del
  cuts, typing replaces.
- The editor colours numbers, strings, URLs, comment lines and
[sections] in files of unknown type; F5 switches colouring off/on.
- The editor caret is the console's blinking bar (a block while
overwriting) instead of an inverted cell.
- Backups and temporaries (*.bak, *.tmp, *~ ...) are brown and media
light red, as new theme entries PanelTemporary and PanelMedia.
