Because this root layout is shared by both configured platforms, the unconditional hidden prop also removes the iOS status bar, despite the change being intended only for Android. Every iOS screen will therefore lose the clock, battery, and other system indicators; condition this behavior on Platform.OS === "android" so iOS retains the previous status bar.
