Windows 11 does not automatically install the driver for the Xbox Wireless Adapter (Model 1713). The device will appear as "XBOX ACC" with a warning symbol in Device Manager. This guide provides a simple fix.
The driver files are already included in the Driver folder of this repository. Skip to Installing the Driver below.
If you prefer to download the driver directly from Microsoft:
Direct download link:

Alternative: Visit the Microsoft Update Catalog and download the 212 KB file named "Microsoft - Other hardware - Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows" (should be the first result).
After downloading, double-click the .cab file to open it:
Copy all contents to a separate folder:
- Open Device Manager (right-click Start button > Device Manager)
- Expand Other devices - you should see "XBOX ACC" with a warning symbol
- Right-click XBOX ACC and select Update driver
- Select Browse my computer for drivers
- Select Let me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer
- Click Next
- Click Have Disk...
- Click Browse and navigate to the driver folder (either the included
Driverfolder or where you extracted the .cab file)
- Select the mt7612us.inf file and click Open
- Click OK, then click Next
- Windows should display: "Windows has successfully updated your drivers"
- In Device Manager, the device properties should now show: "This device is working properly"
You're all set! Your Xbox Wireless Adapter should now be fully functional.
- Driver installation fails: Make sure you extracted all files from the .cab to the same folder
- Device still not working: Try unplugging and replugging the adapter after driver installation
- "Driver not signed" warning: Click "Install this driver software anyway" - the driver is from Microsoft and is safe
