Milestone Description markdown## Pulsarr v1.0.0 — Watchlist Monitoring This milestone covers the full implementation of automated author/series monitoring and new release detection — the core feature that differentiates Pulsarr from the upstream project. The goal is to deliver a complete Sonarr-style automation layer on top of Shelfmark's existing download infrastructure, allowing users to watch authors and automatically receive new releases without manual searching. ## Scope This milestone is complete when a user can: 1. Search for an author and add them to their watchlist 2. Have Pulsarr automatically check for new releases on a schedule 3. Be notified when a new release is detected 4. Have new releases automatically queued for download (if configured) 5. Track the status of all detected releases in one place ## Issues | # | Title | Depends On | |---|-------|------------| | #1 | Add watchlist database schema and backend API | — | | #2 | Add watchlist UI | #1 | | #3 | Add APScheduler and new release detection job | #1 | | #4 | Auto-queue new releases into download queue | #1, #3 | | #5 | Add notifications for new release detection and downloads | #1, #3, #4 | ## Dependency Order #1 DB + API ──► #2 UI │ └─────────► #3 Scheduler ──► #4 Auto-queue ──► #5 Notifications ## Out of Scope for v1.0.0 - Series-level monitoring (author-level only for v1) - Release calendar view (stretch goal for v1.1.0) - Import existing Calibre library to pre-populate watchlist - Goodreads list import - Mobile push notifications ## Notes - All new code must follow existing Shelfmark patterns - No existing functionality should be broken - Monitoring feature must be fully disableable - Docker compose must remain backward compatible - Upstream Shelfmark bug fixes must remain mergeable
