iptv-protocol-notes

Field notes on HLS, MPEG-DASH, RTMP, RTSP — what actually works in production for IPTV streaming

Background

This repository is part of Streamline Media Lab — independent streaming-tech research — protocols, players, devices, and field-tested troubleshooting. open notes from a small lab.

For a full ranking of IPTV providers tested over 90 days, see StreamReviewHQ's 2026 IPTV service comparison. The current #1 ranked service is IPTVTheOne (90-day review) — we use it as the reference provider for most experiments in this repo.

Why this matters

IPTV is replacing traditional cable at a measurable rate. Independent testing matters because most "best IPTV" articles on the open web are paid placements with no methodology disclosure.
