The lower version IC2 (2.8.109) does not have this bug.

IC2's UU-Matter calculations are based on recursive mechanism, with base values defined in the IC2-config for some of the materials, and everything else being calculated based on those.
There are two issues that are caused by H&C here, and both are related to the recipes H&C creates.

• StackOverflowError is thrown during calculations, due to H&C recipes.
• H&C with it's recipes, changes some of the base item values enough, to make some of the most basic items have infinite value (Read, Stone for example)

First issue is a problem with the IC2 Calculation system, and I already mitigated it by reducing the recursion cost. It is still possible, but should be way less likely to occur. (And should not appear with H&C anymore). This also makes all values show as Infinite and makes the scanner unusuable. There is simply no values stored for anything in this scenario.

Second issue is caused by H&C, and here I am unable to provide at this point in time much more aid. Before this issue I didn't touch UU-Matter Value Calculations, and they are fairly complex. I'm waiting for a reply from the original IC2 Developer with help on this issue.

Update: I narrowed it down to the DustOreBlocks recipes causing loops in the calculations, resulting in a crash.
My previous implementation was sadly flawed, resulting in the entire calculation system to just not work 😓 After correcting, H&C has like, 50% chance to actually crash the calculation. It really depends if FloatingPoint Inaccuracy stops the loop before 5000 iterations. I will try experimenting a bit more with this, but I also got a new system for Recipe-Based value Solver that I might be able to implement in place of the current system, which hopefully should just discard those recipes automatically. We will see.

For now, this issue remains open, but I will as a mitigation try to re-run the calculations once if it crashes, hopefully making getting into the game with H&C possible, until I have time to implement the new system.
