What

From a bug hunt on stores.rs, launchers.rs, autostart.rs and tui.rs:

  1. "Start when I log in" showed On while it was off (autostart.rs). KDE's and GNOME's own autostart panels switch an entry off by keeping the file and adding Hidden=true / X-GNOME-Autostart-enabled=false. get() only checked that the file existed. Now it reads the file (new entry_enabled).
  2. Every key acted twice in the terminal UI on Windows (tui.rs). crossterm reports key release as well as press there, so Tab jumped two tabs and r refreshed twice. Non-press events are now skipped.
  3. A failed GOG profile call re-priced the wishlist in US/USD (stores.rs gog_wishlist). gog_user turns any error into US/USD, and USD rows pass the checks for "cheaper at…" and target-price notifications. The wishlist now fails instead, and the caller keeps the last good rows.
  4. An unexpected GOG wishlist shape emptied the wishlist silently (parse_gog_wishlist_ids). The README promises an error instead of an empty list. An object is read as before, [] is still an empty wishlist, anything else is an error.

Not changed

  • Sign-in callback without a state check (stores.rs:105/174/313). In theory, a page opened from inside the GOG/Epic sign-in window could finish the sign-in with someone else's code. Fixing it changes the sign-in flow and needs testing with real accounts, so it's left for a separate change.
  • launchers.rs: nothing found.

Tests

  • New a_desktop_entry_switched_off_by_the_desktop_is_not_on. gog_wishlist_ids_skip_off_entries covers the new shapes.
  • cargo test: 158 passed. cargo clippy --all-targets -D warnings: clean.
  • Not run on Windows (fix 2) or against the live GOG API.

🤖 Generated with Claude Code

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • Bug Fixes
    • Linux autostart status now accounts for desktop-entry settings, including disabled startup flags, instead of relying only on file existence.
    • Wishlist loading now reports invalid wishlist data and profile request failures. Empty wishlists are accepted.
    • TUI actions respond to key presses and repeats, while key-release events no longer trigger actions.

- Settings no longer shows "Start when I log in" as on after the desktop's
own autostart panel switched DealDrop off (Hidden=true /
  X-GNOME-Autostart-enabled=false).
- The terminal UI ignores key releases, so on Windows one key press no
  longer acts twice.
- GOG wishlist: a failed profile call fails the wishlist instead of quietly
pricing it in US/USD, and an answer in a shape we don't know shows an
error instead of an empty wishlist.

Explain Change →

Walkthrough

The changes update Linux autostart status checks, GOG wishlist parsing and error propagation, and TUI handling of key events.

Changes: Linux Autostart Status

Layer / File(s) Summary
Read Linux autostart status
src-tauri/src/autostart.rs
Linux get reads the autostart file under a lock and checks Hidden=true or X-GNOME-Autostart-enabled=false in the [Desktop Entry] group. Tests cover spacing around =, settings in other groups, and opposite values.

GOG Wishlist Handling

Layer / File(s) Summary
Parse and fetch GOG wishlist
src-tauri/src/stores.rs
parse_gog_wishlist_ids returns an error for unsupported wishlist shapes. gog_wishlist propagates parsing and authenticated profile-request errors. Tests cover accepted and rejected shapes and account for the fallible parser.

TUI Key Events

Layer / File(s) Summary
Filter TUI key events
src-tauri/src/tui.rs
The input loop skips key-release events before mapping other key events to actions.

Change: Bug fix

Merge Risk: Low · up to 46ae4

The change is mergeable with awareness of these narrow cases: custom autostart settings can be replaced, Alt-code shortcuts can be ignored, and GOG rows can temporarily disappear after another store’s sign-in.

Architecture risk: Medium · up to 46ae4

The change affects 1 system.

Review details

Systems and components

  • observed — src-tauri (service) was modified; 3 changed files map to changed impact.

Before / after behavior

  • observed — Modified behavior in src-tauri/src/stores.rs: gog_wishlist now propagates errors from ID parsing and its authenticated profile request. Previously, ID parsing returned a vector directly, and profile lookup used gog_user, which falls back to US/USD on request failure.
  • observed — Modified behavior in src-tauri/src/stores.rs: parse_gog_wishlist_ids now returns R<Vec<String>>. It still filters object entries whose values are false or 0, accepts an empty array, and returns an error for any other wishlist shape; previously, unsupported shapes silently produced an empty vector.
  • observed — Modified behavior in src-tauri/src/stores.rs: The GOG wishlist parser test now unwraps valid object and empty-array results and asserts errors for missing, null, nonempty-array, and null-root inputs, replacing the prior expectation that a missing wishlist yields an empty vector.
  • observed — Modified behavior in src-tauri/src/stores.rs: The mutation test now discards the fallible GOG wishlist-ID parser result instead of calling it as an infallible function.

Reliability and maintainability

  • inferred — Risk-relevant change factors for src-tauri: blast_radius_1; direct_dependents_1

Preserve existing entry fields when re-enabling.

Enabling a disabled entry replaces the whole file. This can discard custom Exec settings and desktop-specific fields. Update the disable flags in the existing entry and preserve unrelated fields, while handling any necessary Exec update.

… keeps key repeats

From CodeRabbit's review:
- Hidden = true (spaces are allowed by the spec) now counts as off, and a
Hidden=true in another group (e.g. a desktop action) no longer does.
- get() takes the same lock as refresh() and set().
- The TUI skips only key releases, so holding Up/Down keeps moving.

CodeRabbit round 1, fixed in 46ae44e: [Desktop Entry]-only keys, spaced =, the lock in get(), and the TUI skips only releases. Tests: 158 pass, clippy clean.

Not changing: preserve the existing fields when re-enabling. The Settings toggle owns this entry. Rewriting it on enable is what points Exec at the current app and clears the desktop's off flags, and the comment on entry_enabled says so.
