Mostly asking as a Maint on a shipfork and having been around that community for a while, is there any interest in wrapping this in something like Electron or Tauri?
There is always a large community of folks that are like "I want to map!" but I can tell they're intimidated by the whole "setting up a dev environment" process but would for sure give it a go if they had a tool like this behind a simple icon. Turning it in to a native app with maybe some thin Github tooling to allow for folks to clone content repos (not for submitting things ofc) and keep them updated locally would basically completely evaporate that friction.
