GitHub is moving ubuntu-latest from the 24.04 image to 26.04, gradually.
The cached git-2.25.5 binary is linked against the image's glibc, so one
built on 26.04 fails to load on a 24.04 runner. Add the /etc/os-release
ID and version to the key, as install-node-dependencies already does for
native modules.

Context: Ubuntu 24.04 → 26.04 ubuntu-latest audit across SwapLabsInc.

Testing

  • YAML parses; bash -n on edited scripts.
  • vitest run config/scripts/git-binary-compatibility-workflow.test.mjs: 5/5 pass.

Expected cost: while the rollout is mixed, the hourly warmer only warms whichever image it lands on, so PR jobs on the other image may do a cold Git build until it lands there.
