Rundown

Syndictive, in the most simplest terms, is a modpack that offers a difficult spin on base Minecraft, with the promise of minimal handholding and good content. This wiki will hopefully provide an amount of guidance, especially with the large amount of changes to how it plays out, compared to vanilla Minecraft.

Info on the Wiki

The wiki will talk about the modpack as is, and will try to isolate this modpack from base Minecraft. Don't be confused when the wiki refers to gold tools as "iron tier" without it explicitly saying that the modpack changes it to be that way. The wiki will not fully explain things but give good pointers.

The wiki will be divided up into sections based on the stages of progression in the modpack.

And no, I do not believe that using a wiki is a crutch, or if it counts as handholding. Especially if people are completely lost in what they need to do, in order to progress.

Defining Features

This section will clarify some features that this modpack changes, and should be disassociated from the actual wiki, before you start reading the actual wiki. There will be some parts left vague, as you should read the main wiki after this to really get all the info you need.

No Handholding (Difficulty Tweak)

This modpack does not hold your hand through things, its meant to be difficult. Right off the bat you'll realize that you start with 5 max hearts, have a thirst bar above your hunger bar, and a little temperature doodad in the center of your hotbar. These are some things you will also have to pay attention to along with your hunger.

Your thirst bar is able to be refilled by consuming items that have a hydration value (fruits, drink items, ice cubes, etc.). More info on the Thirst Was Taken wiki.

Temperature is able to be mitigated with a large list of things. More info on the Cold Sweat wiki.

Another things you may realize is the minimal amount of information the F3 thingamajigs provide, and some of the things are disabled. Normal F3 now no longer provides coordinate, block, and light info. F3+g (show chunk borders) and F3+b (show hitboxes) have also been disabled. In order to access coordinates, you must obtain certain items (look at the other pages for more info).

These are some things that you'll notice from the start, but all of these issues can be countered and mitigated as you progress.

Caves are Scary

Caves and, by association, mobs are more difficult. Although caves do mitigate high temperatures (cave insulation), they are filled with many threats. Zombie, Skeleton, Creeper, and Spider mobs (this includes variants) now have an improved AI; look at the Big Brain mod page for more info. Mobs can now easily swarm you and take you down, which makes caves very formidable (due to the amount of mobs and your naturally reduced health).

There are also some additional variants of the Creeper, exclusive to caves. Deepers are Creepers with a higher health pool and a larger explosion radius, if you get caught off guard by one of these, expect you to die. Speaking of getting caught off guard and impending death, Peepers are a swarming, stalking variant of the Creeper that will charge at you when not actively being stared down. Peepers only spawn deep underground, so don't expect any in your early endeavors.

Even though this are two basic changes on the surface, it makes caves actual hell to explore (especially in the deepslate layer). You will die, especially to Peepers.

Tedium

Tools now require two binding items to be made. Gems now have to be sanded in order to be used. Armor is more expensive. Whatever.

You're going to be spending a bit more time doing things.
