fix: let written books be copied despite MMOItems - #53
Conversation
Every Book and Quill on the server is the MMOItems BOOKS.WRITABLE_BOOK (MIReplacer), which has disable-crafting. MMOItems cancels any vanilla recipe using such an item, so the book copy showed in the result slot but could not be taken. BookCopyListener notes whether a book_cloning craft is cancelled at LOW, and at HIGH undoes the cancel only if it appeared in between (MMOItems runs at NORMAL) and an ingredient has MMOItems' disable-crafting tag. Cancels from earlier handlers and from HIGHEST handlers still apply. allow-book-copies in config.yml (default true) turns it off. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>

Review: inferring the cause from timing and a tagged ingredient would also undo another plugin's NORMAL cancel. BookCopyUnblocker now wraps MMOItems' DisableInteractions registrations in the InventoryClickEvent handler list (one tick after startup, since MMOItems is not a dependency). The wrapper undoes a book copy cancel only when that MMOItems call made it, so cancels from every other plugin, at any priority, stay. No MythicLib NBT reading. Paper API 1.21.10 RegisteredListener HandlerList unregister plugin listener ownership disable lifecycle
💡 Result:
On **Paper API 1.21.10**, `RegisteredListener` is the registration record that identifies **both** the `Listener` instance and the owning `Plugin`. `HandlerList.unregister(RegisteredListener)` removes that registration; `unregister(Listener)` removes registrations matching that listener; and `unregister(Plugin)` removes registrations owned by that plugin from that event’s handler list. ([jd.papermc.io](https://jd.papermc.io/paper/1.21.10/org/bukkit/event/HandlerList.html?utm_source=openai))
To clean up a plugin’s event registrations across **all** handler lists, use:
```java
HandlerList.unregisterAll(plugin);
```
The API documents this as unregistering that plugin’s listeners from all handler lists. ([jd.papermc.io](https://jd.papermc.io/paper/1.21.10/org/bukkit/event/HandlerList.html?utm_source=openai))
**Disable lifecycle:** normal plugin disabling already performs listener cleanup through the plugin manager, so manual `unregisterAll(this)` in `onDisable()` is generally redundant. The Bukkit manager’s disable implementation calls `HandlerList.unregisterAll(plugin)`; that cited implementation is Bukkit’s, not a version-pinned Paper 1.21.10 source, so the precise Paper disable call path is not established by the 1.21.10 API Javadoc alone. ([github.com](https://github.com/Bukkit/Bukkit/blob/master/src/main/java/org/bukkit/plugin/SimplePluginManager.java?utm_source=openai))
**Ownership gotcha:** cleanup is based on the plugin stored in each `RegisteredListener`, not on which plugin created or holds the `Listener` object. When registering manually, pass the intended owning plugin to `PluginManager.registerEvent(...)`; the API takes both a listener and a plugin. ([jd.papermc.io](https://jd.papermc.io/paper/1.21.10/org/bukkit/plugin/PluginManager.html?utm_source=openai))

Unregister the wrapper when TFMCCore disables.
wrap creates an executor from the TFMCCore classloader but assigns the replacement registration to MMOItems. TFMCCore therefore does not remove that registration during a reload. The handler list can retain the old wrapper and classloader, and a later wrap call can add another executor layer.
A subtype marker alone prevents further wrapping but does not release the first wrapper. Restore the underlying MMOItems registration and remove the wrapper during onDisable(). Skip marked wrappers in wrap.

Review: wrap on MMOItems' PluginEnableEvent as well as at TFMCCore enable (instead of a one-shot next-tick task), never wrap a wrapper, and put MMOItems' own registrations back in onDisable so a TFMCCore reload keeps no old classloader alive or stacks executors. Registrations that MMOItems dropped itself are not restored. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>

Review: unregister + register moved the wrapped MMOItems handler to the end of its NORMAL slot. HandlerList only appends, so the listeners after it in that slot are now taken out and re-added behind the replacement, for both wrap and unwrap. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>

Addressed in 28a97e6: MMOItems' own DisableInteractions registrations are wrapped, so only a cancel made by that call is undone. Other plugins' cancels (tested at LOW, NORMAL before and after, and HIGHEST) stay.
Problem
Players can't copy lore books (bug report from miss nuance). The vanilla copy shows in the crafting result slot but can't be taken.
On the servers, MIReplacer turns every Book and Quill into the MMOItem
BOOKS.WRITABLE_BOOK, which hasdisable-crafting: true. Books signed from it keep theMMOITEMS_DISABLE_CRAFTINGtag. MMOItems'DisableInteractions#workbenchInteractions(NORMAL priority, ignores cancel state) cancels every non-MMOItems recipe that has such an item in the grid, includingminecraft:book_cloning.Fix
BookCopyUnblockerwraps MMOItems' handlers when TFMCCore enables if MMOItems is already enabled, and otherwise on MMOItems'PluginEnableEvent(MMOItems isn't a dependency, and it registersDisableInteractionsin its ownonEnable). It never wraps a wrapper, and TFMCCore'sonDisableputs MMOItems' own registrations back, so a reload leaves nothing behind (CodeRabbit's second review). It wraps MMOItems'DisableInteractionsregistrations in theInventoryClickEventhandler list, whichCraftItemEventshares. For aminecraft:book_cloningcraft, the wrapper undoes a cancel only when that MMOItems handler call made it.HandlerListonly appends, so the later listeners in that slot are taken out and added back after it. Unwrap does the same.Book copies: wrapped <n> MMOItems click handlers, or a warning if MMOItems is enabled and no handler is found.Vanilla rules are unchanged: Tattered and Copy of a Copy books still can't be copied. A copy keeps all of the original's components, including book skins.
The new
allow-book-copiesoption inconfig.yml(defaulttrue, reloaded by/tcore reload config) turns this off. Main's existing config doesn't need the key.Tests
mvn clean verify: all tests pass, and the 100% line-coverage gate passes.BookCopyUnblockerTestsends events through a realHandlerListin priority order. Another plugin's cancel at LOW, at NORMAL before and after MMOItems, and at HIGHEST all stay.~/book-copy-test/test.json the host):Docs: TF-Minecraft/Docs (TFMCCore overview, "Book copies").
