β
Steps to Complete
1. Update README.md
- Open

<!-- ALL-CONTRIBUTORS-LIST:START - Do not remove or modify this section -->
...
<!-- ALL-CONTRIBUTORS-LIST:END -->
- Inside this block, contributors are listed in a table format.
Example (already in the repo):
<td valign="top" width="100px"><a href="https://github.com/louicoder"><img src="https://avatars.githubusercontent.com/u/32771081?v=4?s=100" width="100px;" alt="louicoder"/><br /><b>louicoder</b></a><br /><a href="https://github.com/Tambulab/this-is-uganda/commits?author=louicoder" title="Code">π»</a></td>
-
Copy an existing entry and paste it inside the same <tr>...</tr> block.
Then replace the details:
https://github.com/<your-username> β your GitHub profile link
img src="https://avatars.githubusercontent.com/u/... β your GitHub avatar (find it on your profile picture: right-click β "Copy image address")
alt="..." β your GitHub username
<b>...</b> β your GitHub username or display name
- Commit link:
https://github.com/Tambulab/this-is-uganda/commits?author=<your-username>
- Emoji(s) for contribution type(s) (see [emoji key](https://allcontributors.org/docs/en/emoji-key))
2. Update .all-contributorsrc
-
Open .all-contributorsrc.
-
Copy an existing contributor entry (a JSON object inside the "contributors" array).
-
Paste it at the end of the array and update the fields:
Example:
{
"login": "your-github-username",
"name": "Your Name",
"avatar_url": "https://avatars.githubusercontent.com/u/<your-id>?v=4",
"profile": "https://github.com/your-github-username",
"contributions": ["code"]
}
login: your GitHub username
name: your preferred display name (or same as username)
avatar_url: your GitHub avatar URL (same as above)
profile: link to your GitHub profile
contributions: a list of contribution types ("code", "doc", "design", etc.)
3. Commit Your Changes
git add README.md .all-contributorsrc
git commit -m "docs: add @your-username as a contributor"
4. Push Your Branch
git push -u origin feature/add-<your-username>-contributor
5. Open a Pull Request (PR)
- Base branch:
dev
- Compare branch: your contributor branch
- Title:
docs: add @<username> as a contributor
- Description: Briefly mention that you added yourself as a contributor.
π Notes
- Always copy from existing entries to keep formatting consistent.
- Only edit inside the marked contributor block in
README.md.
- Use the correct emojis for your contribution type(s).
- PRs must always target the
dev branch.
Once your PR is merged, your profile will appear in the Contributors section π π
