[feat] Complete Copilot CLI instructions, docs, and env delivery #609

Closed

Description

@ousamabenyounes

Context

Follow-up to #549 and merged PR #601. Copilot CLI now receives TeamAI skills, rules, and hooks, but the support matrix still correctly leaves docs and env unverified.

Scope

  • Map TeamAI culture and persistent project context to the official user and repository custom-instruction files.
  • Preserve user-authored text with TeamAI ownership markers.
  • Honor COPILOT_HOME for user scope and use .github/copilot-instructions.md for project scope.
  • Verify the existing docs and env channels with the official Copilot CLI in both scopes; change production code only where the real path is incomplete.
  • Update the support matrix only for capabilities proven end to end.

Acceptance criteria

  • RED to GREEN tests cover both scopes, idempotence, preservation, removal, and uninstall.
  • A real authenticated Copilot CLI session reads the managed instructions and sees a TeamAI-provided environment value.
  • Existing user instructions and unrelated settings remain unchanged.
  • Full local CI and bilingual documentation are green.

This is the first child delivery of the remaining #549 scope.

Thanks for breaking the remaining #549 scope down cleanly — the split into #609 / #610 / #611 / #612 is right. Each has its own schema, ownership, or privacy contract, so four separate PRs is the correct shape, not one.

    Suggested sequence:

    1. [feat] Complete Copilot CLI instructions, docs, and env delivery #609 (instructions/docs/env) first — it's the foundation and unblocks the support matrix rows fastest.
    2. [feat] Add Copilot CLI MCP synchronization #610 (MCP) and [feat] Add Copilot custom agents and Team Context recall #611 (agents + Team Context recall) next — independent of each other, can go in parallel.
    3. [feat] Add Copilot usage, sessions, and dashboard telemetry #612 (telemetry) last — hooks already landed in feat: add GitHub Copilot adapter #601, so usage/session payload validation is the natural tail.

All four are yours. Same ground rules as #601: test-first (RED → GREEN), preserve user-authored config, TeamAI-owned markers only, bilingual docs, and one real authenticated Copilot CLI run as evidence per PR. Ping me per PR.
