meta: consume METAPAT as upstream Energy Theory canon #31

Description

@erinepshovel-code

Summary

The-Interdependency/METAPAT is now live and seeded as the canonical home for Meta Energy Theory — Axioms, Postulates, and Theorems.

This issue is the Codex handoff for altering skill-lib/meta so the skill consumes METAPAT instead of owning or redefining Energy Theory root canon.

Canon source

Upstream repo:

The-Interdependency/METAPAT

Primary handoff file:

METAPAT/codex/skill-lib-handoff.md

Required outcome

skill-lib/meta should become a METAPAT consumer skill that enforces:

Legible difference is distinction.
Distinction defines boundaries.
Boundaries define simplex.
Boundary is simplex of distinction.
Simplex holds or modifies energy in a state of being.

And the current primitive extension:

Tensor is primitive simultaneous arrangement of energy-states.
Energy-state held is scalar.
Energy-state motioned is vector.
Energy-state vectors alter energy-state scalars.
Time is sequential tensor alteration.
Registration is the capacity of a simplex to preserve, express, or transmit sequential tensor alteration.
Observer is a simplex performing registration.
Consciousness is one possible observer-mode.
Story is conscious registration of time.
A question is a bounded unresolved energy-state.

Files to update

  • meta/SKILL.md
  • meta/AXIOMS.md
  • meta/LAW_FAMILIES.md
  • meta/OVERLAP_GRID.md
  • meta/LOAD_BEARING_LINES.md
  • README.md
  • skills.json
  • generated/sync files if drift checks require it: AGENTS.md, CLAUDE.md, ORG_DISTRIBUTION.md, llms.txt

Guardrails

  • Do not create a new energy-theory/ skill.
  • Do not make skill-lib the canonical home of Energy Theory.
  • Do not use medium as root definition of simplex.
  • Do not define time as consciousness, story, observer, or registration.
  • Do not make registration parent to time.
  • Do not let gestalt create physical object-instantiation; gestalt is cognitive registration of object-whole.
  • Preserve hmmm as unresolved marker.

Tests/checks

Run:

python tools/check_skill_lib_drift.py
python tools/check_skill_compliance.py
python -m unittest discover -s tests
python -m llms.build --root . --out llms.txt --apply
python -m llms.build --root . --out llms.txt --check

Acceptance criteria

  • meta names METAPAT as canonical upstream.
  • Old four-root core is removed or marked superseded.
  • README and skills.json stay consistent.
  • No meta file contradicts METAPAT Chapter Zero.
  • Tests pass, or remaining failures are documented with exact command output and hmmm.
