[bug] Stop daily auto-prefix execution without issue changes #63

Closed

Description

@p0dalirius

Summary

The auto-prefix workflow is invoked every day even when no issue is opened or edited. This consumes an Actions run and reprocesses existing open issues without a corresponding issue change.

Location

  • File(s): .github/workflows/auto‐prefix‐issues.yml
  • Line(s) / function(s): on.schedule at L6–L7

Category

state-management

Severity

low

Each repository receives an unnecessary daily Actions run, and open issues are processed outside the intended event-driven lifecycle.

Reproduction / Evidence

Verified by code analysis: the on.schedule block at L6–L7 declares cron: '0 0 * * *'. The same trigger map declares issues events for opened and edited at L4–L5, so GitHub dispatches the workflow both for issue changes and once per day.

Expected Behavior

The workflow should run only when an issue is opened or edited.

Actual Behavior

The workflow also runs every day without an issue change.

Root Cause

The shared auto-prefix workflow retained its periodic schedule after issue-event triggers were added.
