Closing this major upgrade because it is not compatible with the current Next.js 16 build toolchain. Type checking and tests pass, but the production build loses the tsconfig path aliases and fails to resolve the project modules. This should be revisited as a coordinated framework and TypeScript migration once Next.js supports the TypeScript 7 compiler API.
