  • A delete projection only needs the key to find the row it removes, yet it was flagged for every read model field it never fills.
  • A UI cannot declare fields, so every UI slice was flagged as incomplete regardless of how well the model was built.

Closes #128
Closes #127

PR Summary

Medium Risk
Changes core data-flow and completeness rules for read models and UI slices; misclassification could hide real gaps or over-report missing sources.

Overview
Information completeness no longer treats delete read-model projections and UI slices as if they must populate every downstream field.

For delete projections, flow resolution now limits required fields to the read model key (when defined), drops swimlane state from upstream sources, and labels triggering events with a new FlowSourceRole::Trigger so lane-state key fields do not create ambiguous sources. When a read model is fed only by delete slices, event-model scope applies the same key-only rules and marks delete-only events as triggers. Upsert slices and keyless delete projections still use the full field requirements.

UI slices mark linked read models and UI entities as auxiliary endpoints so completeness checks field flow from the read model without flagging UIs for undeclared fields.

Jev field-source prep treats Trigger like direct sources for evidence and exact-name matching. Tests cover delete, upsert mix, event-model scope, and UI pass-through.

Walkthrough

The change updates information-completeness analysis for delete projections and UI slices. It adds a Trigger source role, limits delete-projection checks to read-model keys, and marks UI-slice endpoints auxiliary. Field matching and evidence serialization now recognize trigger sources.

Projection completeness handling

Layer / File(s) Summary
Endpoint roles and field matching
rsworkspace/crates/trogon-atlas-server/src/analysis.rs, rsworkspace/crates/trogon-atlas-server/src/jev.rs
The analysis adds Trigger endpoints, limits delete-projection downstream fields to read-model keys, and marks UI-slice endpoints auxiliary. Matching prioritizes exact-name fields from non-auxiliary sources. Evidence serializes Trigger as "direct".
Projection flow tests
rsworkspace/crates/trogon-atlas-server/src/analysis.rs
Tests cover delete-projection key matching and missing-key gaps, upsert projections that still require non-key fields, and field tracing from a read model to a UI.

The fix is incomplete. Event-model views can still flag delete projections for non-key fields. A delete key can count as satisfied when it comes only from lane state rather than the delete event. UI slices report full completeness without tracing any field. These gaps undermine the issues this PR claims to close and should be fixed before merge.

Full details: Linked Issues check

Explanation

The PR implements both active linked issues. For #128, slice_to_flow marks delete-projection upstream endpoints as Trigger and restricts downstream fields to the read model key. candidate_sources accepts trigger fields, so key fields are checked while non-key fields are excluded. Existing roles keep the normal field rule, and tests cover key success, missing keys, and unchanged upsert requirements. For #127, UI-slice read models and UI endpoints are marked Auxiliary. Completeness checks therefore avoid undeclared and dangling reports, while candidate_sources still matches UI-consumed read-model fields. The UI flow test verifies a complete result.

Full details: Out of Scope Changes check

Explanation

The changed analysis.rs and jev.rs code supports the two linked completeness fixes. Trigger preserves delete-event source matching and exposes it as direct evidence where required. The added tests verify the requested delete-projection and UI-slice behavior. No unrelated change is demonstrated.

A rabbit checks the fields in view,
And marks the trigger role as new.
Delete flows keep the keys they need,
UI slices trace their read-model feed.
The missing-key gap stays plain,
Then hops the rabbit home again.

🎯 Functional Correctness | 🟠 Major | 🏗️ Heavy lift

Give the UI endpoint the consumed read-model fields.

Marking the UI endpoint auxiliary suppresses its undeclared-fields gap, but fields_of gives it no fields. A UI slice with a populated source read model therefore produces no inferred mappings and receives a completeness score of 1.0 without tracing any field. Populate the UI-side flow from its source read models, including the case with multiple sources.
