  • A write that drops a reference could leave a subdomain unrealized or a domain without a core subdomain, and its response stayed silent about the problem it just caused.
  • Changing a subdomain could attach findings to context versions that were already superseded, which blames the write for stale definitions.
  • The examples guide applied a context namespace before the problem space it realizes, so the first command on an empty store could not build a complete model.

PR Summary

Medium Risk
Changes strategic validation attribution across single writes and batches; behavior is advisory but affects what users see on apply responses, with broad new test coverage.

Overview
Strategic validation now attributes advisory findings more accurately when domains, subdomains, or bounded contexts are written or deleted.

strategic_issues_by_change takes a before store snapshot as well as the post-change world. Writes that drop references (e.g. a context stops realizing a subdomain, or a subdomain moves to another domain) surface new scenario issues on the entities left behind, without re-reporting problems that already existed. Related entities are resolved at latest versions only, so superseded context/subdomain revisions are not blamed on the current change. Delete handling uses the same latest-survivor logic against the post-delete world.

All server apply/batch paths pass the pre-change world into this API. The examples manifests README reorders guidance so dependency apply order (acme first) appears before per-namespace apply / --dry-run / diff examples.

Walkthrough

Strategic validation now compares findings in pre-change and post-change worlds and selects latest-version related entities. The manifest guide places namespace apply, dry-run, and diff instructions after dependency guidance.

Changes

Strategic finding attribution

Layer / File(s) Summary
Latest-version target selection and finding attribution
rsworkspace/crates/trogon-atlas-server/src/validation.rs
Validation selects latest-version contexts and subdomains for strategic change and deletion checks. It compares post-change findings with findings in the pre-change world. Tests cover superseded versions and changed references.
Pre-change world wiring
rsworkspace/crates/trogon-atlas-server/src/service.rs
Strategic finding evaluation in merge, entity put, and batch mutation passes both the pre-change and post-change worlds.

Manifest command guidance

Layer / File(s) Summary
Namespace command instructions
examples/manifests/README.md
The namespace apply, dry-run, and diff examples now follow dependency-order guidance. The instructions specify that dependencies must be in the store before applying.

An older context version can hide a newly unrealized subdomain from the findings reported for a write. Correct the latest-version check before relying on those findings; the remaining merge risk is bounded.

Full details: Title check

Explanation

The title states the primary change: the strategic findings a write causes are now reported based on the references it stops making. The raw summary shows validation changes in validation.rs and service.rs that match this, with the examples guide change as a secondary item. The title is specific and matches the changeset, so it passes.

Full details: Description check

Explanation

The description lists three concrete problems that match the changeset: a write that drops a reference can leave a subdomain unrealized, findings get attached to superseded context versions, and the examples guide applied a namespace before its problem space. The raw summary confirms the examples/manifests/README.md change and the validation.rs and service.rs changes. The description is related to the changeset, so it passes.

Full details: Docstring Coverage

Explanation

Docstring coverage is 33.33% which is insufficient. The required threshold is 80.00%. Docstring coverage is scoped to functions touched by this diff. Analyzed 3 functions across 1 files. (2 skipped: 1 unsupported, 1 too large.)

Resolution

Write docstrings for the functions missing them to satisfy the coverage threshold.
