Automatically use attached storage?

At the moment, this component requires you to set the src_galaxy_storage_path parameter to use a storage unit. The Galaxy UU catalog item has an interactive parameter to ask the user about this, the SURF Galaxy item does not. @mirelaminkova: am I right in thinking that this means you currently cannot store Galaxy data on a storage unit with the SURF Galaxy item?

We could choose to automatically utilize a storage unit if it is attached to the workspace. A slight complication is the possibility of attaching multiple storage units (I am not sure this is already supported on SRC, but it might be in the future?). In that case, which storage unit should automatically be used? For the ASReview component, I have chosen to just default to the first one (alphanumerically).

A better option would be if SRC supported an interactive parameter type that lets the user select a storage unit, but that doesn't exist yet. :)

Hi Dawa, thanks for the comment. Indeed, currently, you need to go and manually tweak your workspace to add the storage unit. I am also working on the Pulsar connection to possibly make it automated, as right now, you need to get access to Snellius and from there add your credentials to the Pulsar workspace. I think, indeed, having the option as an interactive parameter would be the best. I will pick up on these things and I will keep you posted :)
