What's New

Version 1.1 brings a couple of highly requested features:

• Live Map functionality - see where the Vandy Vans are in real time, and tap a van to see how full it is!
• Tap an arrival time to be taken directly to the Live Map for that route.
• Some all-important bug fixes and performance improvements.

Internal Improvements

• A return to MapKit.
• The app has been updated to 64-bit.
• Almost all of the networking plumbing has been redone using AFNetworking 2.0.
• The stop and line coordinates on the map are no longer hardcoded; they are pulled dynamically and updated periodically using Background App Refresh.

Updated App Store Description

The Vandy Vans app is the best way to use Vanderbilt's shuttle service while on the go. Gone are the days of navigating to VandyVans.com. With the Vandy Vans app, you can:

• Get the arrival times for all of the vans coming to a particular stop. No more looking up times by route and then by stop!
• Get a notification on your iPhone when a van is 2 minutes away from a stop you're interested in.
• See all of the vans moving in real time on the Live Map.

Additionally, since this is a native app on your iPhone, you'll be able to get the info you need even faster than on VandyVans.com!

This release fixes the app's display name from "vandyvans" to what it was originally intended to be, "Vandy Vans". Through a series of deployment-related errors in Vanderbilt's IT department, this has taken a couple of versions to get right.
