French Tarot is a strategic trick-taking card game played with a 78-card Tarot Nouveau deck. It combines:
- Bidding phase — Players bid (Petite, Garde, Garde Sans, Garde Contre) to become the Taker
- Card play — Taker plays alone against the 3 Defenders
- Announcements — Optional bonuses: Poignée (Handful), Chelem (Grand Slam), Pas de prise (No-bid)
- Scoring — Based on captured points + Trumps (Atouts), Kings, Queens, Knights, Knaves, plus the "oudlers" (1, 21, Excuse)
Tarot League implements the official FFT (Fédération Française de Tarot) rules.
